Sacmi to present digital cap and preform line at Drink Japan

At Drink Japan 2025, Sacmi will exhibit an integrated production line for caps and PET preforms that combines new CCM64MD and IPS400D presses with digital monitoring and AI-enabled vision systems. The company will also outline Rigid Packaging Lab services and the Purecap recycled HDPE cap initiative.

The US FDA has issued a No Objection Letter for Starlinger’s polypropylene cap-to-cap recycling process on the recoSTAR dynamic system, allowing beverage caps made from 100% post-consumer PP to be used under Conditions of Use C to H, including hot fill.

The Alpla Group is strengthening Alplainject, its injection-moulding division, with the acquisition of KM Packaging. This acquisition means the international plastic packaging specialist will now also manufacture high-quality closures for tubes, bottles and jars, including in clean rooms if desired, at six additional sites in Germany, Austria, Poland and the US.
