SABIC showcases advanced material solutions at K 2025

SABIC showcases advanced material…

SABIC presented its theme "Connecting everyday life" at K 2025, unveiling material solutions developed through collaborations across the value chain. The company organized its exhibit into five areas, "Live", "Move", "Work", "Shop" and "Care", to illustrate how its technologies are integrated into daily routines. In mobility, Sabic has consolidated knowledge related to electric vehicles and charging systems under the Bluehero initiative, which focuses on material solutions for EV battery systems, power electronics and charging infrastructure. For large transportation components, the new Megamolding platform combines company expertise, data, tools and materials to support the production of large thermoplastic parts, especially for electric vehicles. In consumer and healthcare-related applications showcased under "Shop" and "Care", Sabic demonstrated end products derived from its Trucircle portfolio. Working with suppliers and customers, the company develops solutions using polymers attributed to certified bio-renewable feedstock, which may help lower product carbon footprint compared to incumbent options. Solutions based on certified circular feedstock are intended to support plastics circularity by keeping used plastics in the material stream. The same platforms extend to the "Live" area in wirelessly connected electronics and labor-saving appliances, and to the "Work" area in industrial infrastructure such as cables, pipes and cooling systems.

Sami Al-Osaimi, Executive Vice President, Polymers Business at SABIC, said: "Visitors to K show can see that our products can help enhance everyday life by seamlessly integrating our cutting-edge material solutions, technology and consumer-centric approach. We help enable electrification, foster design freedom, advance recyclability, and support the increasing demand for renewable energy solutions, all contributing to the evolution of products used daily by consumers, businesses, and industries around the world."

Mobility platforms and large-part molding

Under the "Move" area, Bluehero is positioned to enable the next generation of electric mobility with materials for EV battery systems, power electronics and charging infrastructure. For the manufacture of large thermoplastic components in transportation, SABIC introduced the Megamolding platform, which integrates company know-how, datasets, design tools and materials to help produce large parts, with a focus on electric vehicles.

Circular materials across consumer and industrial uses

Within the "Shop" and "Care" areas, SABIC presented end products based on the Trucircle portfolio of products and services. These include solutions with polymers attributed to certified bio-renewable feedstock, which might contribute to lowering a product’s carbon footprint versus established materials, and solutions based on certified circular feedstock that aim to keep used plastic in circulation. The same approaches are applied in the "Live" area for connected electronics and household appliances, and in the "Work" area for industrial infrastructure like cables, pipes and cooling systems.

The K show is a trade fair for plastics and rubber. Further information is available at SABIC’s K 2025 booth D42 in hall 6 in Düsseldorf, October 8–15.
