Petcore Europe invites innovation submissions

Petcore Europe invites innovation…

Petcore Europe has announced a call for submissions for an innovation session to be held during Thermoforms Conference 2026. The event will take place in person, and one of the sessions will be dedicated to presenting innovative projects prepared by representatives of the PET thermoforms value chain. The initiative is intended to highlight solutions that can accelerate the implementation of measures supporting the recycling of PET thermoforms and improving their recyclability. The organiser is inviting innovators interested in advancing circularity in this packaging segment. Submissions should address technical, organisational or process solutions that may be relevant to the collection, processing and use of PET materials.

Proposals should be sent to Maria Trofimova at maria.trofimova@petcore-europe.org by 30 April 2026. As part of the selection process, applicants are required to submit a summary of no more than 10 lines, together with contact details, a short biography and a speaker photo. Selected submissions are expected to be confirmed by 15 May and then invited to present during the Petcore Europe Thermoforms Conference in Valencia. The organisation stated that the session is intended to present solutions supporting the further development of PET thermoforms recycling.

Scope of submissions

Petcore Europe listed example innovation areas that may be covered by submissions. These include the application of artificial intelligence within the PET thermoforms value chain, solutions for the traceability of recycled content, as well as quality improvement and analysis of recycled plastics. The organiser also mentions innovations related to collection systems, advanced recycling processes for PET materials, and depolymerisation technologies used within the PET thermoforms value chain.

Other solutions may also be included in submissions, provided they support the recycling of PET thermoforms and increase their recyclability. The call description indicates that the organiser wants to present projects addressing different stages of the value chain, from collection and sorting to processing technologies and the use of secondary raw material.
