Omya Performance Polymer Distribution has been appointed by Ineos Olefins & Polymers Europe as a leading European distribution partner for polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) across Northern, Central, Eastern and Western Europe. The agreement expands the long-standing relationship between the two companies, previously established through a mutually exclusive distribution partnership in the UK, Ireland and the Nordics via Distrupol, a member of Omya Performance Polymer Distribution. The parties indicate that the agreement confirms their long-term approach to serving Europe’s polymer converters and is intended to increase the availability of selected polyolefin grades amid growing market volatility.
Ineos Olefins & Polymers Europe reports that it is strengthening its European supply proposition through regional investment programs designed to secure long-term, lower-carbon supply and enable local access to high-quality polyolefins. The projects cited include investments of EUR 4 billion in “Europe’s most sustainable cracker” and EUR 500 million to transform the Lavera site in southern France into a modern, lower-carbon facility.
According to the announcement, the expanded cooperation is intended to provide more converters with access to secure supply of Ineos polypropylene and polyethylene grades, supported by Omya Performance Polymer Distribution’s market and technical expertise and its pan-European service network. The parties also point to a broader product offering for customers and access to sustainability solutions developed under Ineos’s investment program focused on lower-carbon supply.
Carsten Harms, CEO of Omya Performance Polymer Distribution, commented: "We are delighted to expand our strategic partnership with Ineos Olefins & Polymers Europe. Their extensive portfolio and commitment to long-term European investment align perfectly with our own growth strategy. Customers will benefit from stable supply, a broader product offering and enhanced application support."

Rob Ingram, CEO of Ineos Olefins & Polymers Europe, highlighted the role of the investment program for the partnership’s development: "Supported by our long-term investment program, including world-scale, lower-carbon production assets and recycling-ready technologies, this partnership reinforces our deep commitment to European supply. We are ensuring that customers can access high-quality, locally manufactured polymers they can rely on at a time of increasing volatility. Omya Performance Polymer Distribution combines strong market presence and excellent technical capability with strategies that align closely with our own, making this an ideal partnership for our next phase of growth."

The statement notes that the partnership is also intended to strengthen Ineos’s downstream presence and improve service for small and medium-sized converters for whom consistent quality and continuity of supply are critical. Omya Performance Polymer Distribution’s expanded mandate is also expected to broaden Ineos’s market reach, building on its established distribution network across key European regions.
It was also emphasized that the expanded mandate reinforces Omya Performance Polymer Distribution’s role as a key Ineos distribution partner across Europe, backed by Ineos’s investment program. As framed by the parties, this is intended to translate into improved customer access to local supply and to solutions described as technologically leading.
