KHS Group has received the highest distinction in the EcoVadis assessment, the platinum medal, for the second consecutive year. This result confirms the progress made by the manufacturer of filling and packaging systems in the area of sustainability and its continued strong position compared with other assessed companies. The company scored 89 out of 100 points, improving on the result achieved a year earlier. This means that KHS remains among the top 1% of the more than 175,000 companies reviewed by EcoVadis each year. The organization assesses companies against up to 21 criteria covering environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. According to KHS, the result confirms that environmental and social responsibility is implemented in the company in practical terms, and that progress in this area is systematically documented and further developed.
Nicole Pohl, senior ESG manager at KHS, said: "Winning our second platinum distinction is a major success for all of KHS. In an assessment system that is developing dynamically and setting increasingly stringent requirements, we have achieved an excellent result."
Improved score in external initiatives area
According to KHS, activities related to sustainable development and responsible corporate governance that go beyond day-to-day operations were assessed particularly positively. This applies in particular to the Endorsements category, which analyzes formal recognition and support for external sustainability initiatives and principles. The company stated that, thanks to the continued development of this commitment, it scored significantly more points in this part of the assessment than in the previous year.
"We see EcoVadis as a benchmark for our own sustainability achievements, measured directly against the market and the competition," Pohl explained. "In this way, we enable our stakeholders to make a reliable and measurable comparison of our progress across the entire value chain."
The rating as a benchmark for company activities
Tobias Wetzel, CSO at KHS, pointed out that EcoVadis assessment criteria are becoming increasingly demanding. "The fact that we have once again defended our leading position and even improved our score confirms that we are on the right track. At KHS, sustainability is not just a declaration, but a mandatory benchmark for all our activities. Especially in challenging economic, political, and climatic times, we show that responsibility and corporate success can go hand in hand."
