Kraiburg TPE to debut at Interplas 2026 in Birmingham

Kraiburg TPE to debut at Interplas…

Kraiburg TPE, a manufacturer of thermoplastic elastomers (TPE), has announced its first-ever participation at Interplas 2026 under its own brand. The company states that this is intended to underline its long-term commitment to the UK market. Following the establishment of Kraiburg TPE UK Ltd. in June 2024, this is another step aimed at expanding its own presence in Great Britain in a targeted manner.

Interplas in Birmingham is an industry event held since 1948 and is among the largest and longest-running trade fairs for the plastics sector in the United Kingdom. Kraiburg TPE reports that, with the debut of its UK subsidiary, it will be present at the event in 2026. The company team is to welcome visitors together with Abbey Polymers, its long-standing sales partner, at Booth T28 in Hall 9 at the National Exhibition Center in Birmingham, from 2 to 4 June.

Expanding presence in Great Britain

The company links its trade fair activity with the development of local structures. The establishment of Kraiburg TPE UK Ltd. in June 2024 is, according to the company, intended to confirm the importance of the British market in its strategy. "Our first independent appearance at Interplas marks another milestone for increased presence in Great Britain," emphasises Nikolaus Weiss, Head of Sales. "Interplas is a central event for exchanging current industry information and obtaining information on new developments in products and processes. At the same time, our presence provides an ideal opportunity to draw the attention of customers and prospective buyers to us and our solutions. For companies that have held back so far because our office and production sites are located in Germany, it makes it much easier to access our complete product range."

As reported by Kraiburg TPE, as a provider of materials solutions the company addresses multiple sectors. "In addition to offering standard solutions for different industries, we are present wherever new or further developments of custom-made compounds are needed," says Nikolaus Weiss. "Many of the solutions that we have developed for sectors such as automotive, consumer, industry or medical technology are applicable across industries. This makes it all the more important for us to present customers and prospective buyers with the whole range of our application portfolio, to enable them to select those sections that are the best solution for their requirements."

Recycling Content TPEs and the FR3 series at the core of the exhibit

As part of its trade fair presence, Kraiburg TPE UK Ltd. announces the presentation of two key areas. The first is to be a recycling-based materials range for the automotive market, with a stated recycled content of up to 77%. The manufacturer reports that the Recycling Content TPEs have been tailored to the requirements of the automotive sector and cover a hardness range from 20 to 95 Shore A. They are intended for interior and exterior applications, as well as for use in automotive powertrains.

The second focus is to be the new FR3 series. According to the company, these compounds meet stringent fire safety requirements in their intended applications, including those specified in the EN 45545-2 European Railway Standard for fire protection. In addition to fire protection properties, FR3 TPEs are said to offer material characteristics relevant for applications in environments with elevated safety requirements, including "significantly optimised compression set values" for halogen-free, flame-retardant TPEs.
