The issues faced by European polypropylene producers may lead to a slight increase in prices in Poland in the last week of August - early September.
However, this rise will not be significant, as cheap imported materials will still be available on the market. Due to rising demand, price increases of 10-20 EUR/t may occur. For PP raffia, there could be an increase of 20-30 EUR/t at the lower end of the price range.
- Due to technical outages at PP producers in the region, traders have reported increased demand for European-origin homopolymers and copolymers recently. However, this demand remains limited and far from optimal;
- No shortage was identified in Poland either, as sufficient volumes of imported material have been still available;
- Average spot prices for homopolymers and copolymers remain stable.
- In mid-month, the highest demand for copolymers came from furniture and household appliances manufacturers.
