RePlast Eurasia 2025, the first and only specialised fair of the plastic recycling sector in Türkiye, opened its doors on 8 May at Istanbul Tüyap Fair and Congress Centre. The fair, where important steps are taken for a sustainable future, brings together the leading companies and professionals of the sector from Türkiye and around the world.

RePlast Eurasia 2025, organised by Tüyap cooperation with Pagçev started with the intense interest of sector representatives. In the fair, which has a wide range of products such as plastic recycling machines, technologies, plastic recycling raw materials, collection and sorting services, test and measurement devices, design and consultancy companies also present their innovative solutions to visitors.

Events that Shed Light on the Future of the Sector

At the 2nd Plastic Recycling Conference, which was held with the participation of senior industry professionals on the first day of the three-day fair, a wide range of issues such as the present of the plastic recycling sector, technological developments awaiting the sector in the future, legal practices, sustainability and circular economy were discussed in a wide framework.

In addition, the leading projects of the sector were awarded at the 2nd Plastic Recycling Awards Ceremony held within the scope of the fair. The projects that are entitled to be finalists in the competition will be presented to the visitors at the fair area throughout the fair.

Ambitious Messages for the Future from Sector Leaders

In his opening speech, İlhan Ersözlü, General Manager of Tüyap said: "Our fair, which hosted visitors from 85 countries last year, reached 105 countries this year. We experienced a growth of 15 per cent in the number of exhibitors and 20 per cent in the number of visitors. The goal of this fair is to become the world's number one event in its field in the next five years."

Yavuz Eroğlu, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Pagçev, said: "Türkiye is the second largest country in Europe in plastic recycling and we have great opportunities ahead of us. The cessation of waste shipments to non-OECD countries in 2026 will create a serious advantage for Türkiye in the recycling sector."

Bernard Merkx, Chairman of the Advisory Board of RePlast Eurasia, said: "It is necessary to encourage quality, sustainability and innovation in the sector. Investments should continue despite the economic difficulties because the growth potential of the recycling sector is very high."

Artistic touch to recycling with Pet World Wall

The "Pet World Wall" project, implemented by upcycling artist Zeliha Sunal, will be completed with the contribution of visitors during the RePlast Eurasia Fair. The wall, which was started to be constructed from the pet bottles collected in the exhibition area and offices in Tüyap starting before the fair, aims to raise awareness about plastic recycling.

Record international participation

RePlast Eurasia 2025 carries the success it achieved in its first year even further this year. Approximately 10 thousand professional visitors are expected to take part in the fair, which is attended by more than 150 companies. Industry professionals from all over the world, including Germany, Italy, China, the Netherlands, Azerbaijan, the United Arab Emirates and Russia, have the opportunity to establish valuable business contacts at the fair.
