Polyvantis has opened a new Technology Center in Shanghai, China, following nearly three years of planning. The facility brings together cross-functional teams from R&D, commercial and manufacturing to collaborate more closely and respond faster to evolving market demands. By uniting these capabilities under one roof, the company intends to deliver integrated solutions that address emerging challenges and to accelerate innovation across key industries. The site opened on July 14 and represents a milestone in Polyvantis' focus on innovation, customer partnership and sustainable growth. The new facility complements the company's four existing technical centers in Germany, the Netherlands and the United States, forming part of a global innovation network dedicated to advancing the performance and sustainability of semi-finished acrylic and polycarbonate materials. The Shanghai location will serve as a center of excellence for optical and electrical films, supporting fast-growing markets such as electronics, displays and transportation.
Scope and role of the Shanghai center
According to the company, the Shanghai Technology Center is designed to strengthen development of optical and electrical films for applications in electronics, display technologies and transportation. The integrated setup is intended to tighten feedback loops between research, commercial teams and manufacturing, with the goal of bringing solutions to market more quickly and aligning product performance with customer requirements.
