PA6 CP plant in Zhejiang commissioned by Barmag Huitong

PA6 CP plant in Zhejiang commissioned…

Barmag Huitong (Yangzhou) Engineering Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Barmag, has commissioned the first continuous polymerization (CP) plant for producing polyamide 6 in China’s Zhejiang province. Following a combined construction and start-up phase of just 7 months, the plant began production at the end of 2025. Since then, it has been producing 20 metric tons per day of high-quality PA6 with significantly reduced energy consumption. The resulting polyamide 6 is then processed into filament yarn for textile applications via a direct spinning facility, which is intended to improve the economic viability of this approach.

According to the announcement, the implementation completes the value chain for a Chinese filament yarn manufacturer. The company states that the investment lays the foundation for further strengthening its competitive position in the demanding PA6 market.

Further development of two-reactor technology within the joint venture

The statement highlights that the joint venture between the German chemical fiber plant manufacturer Barmag and the Chinese chemical plant specialist Huitong has further developed classic two-reactor technology. According to the companies, this is intended to improve competitiveness and position the concept as the preferred option for future PA6 direct spinning plants.

Barmag Huitong Engineering also states that it will continue working on process and equipment innovations aimed at increasing plant efficiency for customers while supporting the sustainable development of the nylon industry chain.

In the future, Barmag will be able to produce polyamide 6, from polymerization through to the finished spool, all under one roof.
