The Plastics Recycling Show Europe in Amsterdam, scheduled for 5–6 May 2026, will once again become one of the key meeting points for the plastics recycling industry in Europe. At stand D16, Lindner will present complete plant solutions, shredders and service offerings dedicated to plastics recycling. The focus will be on recyclate quality, energy efficiency and process optimisation along the entire value chain, from waste stream preparation to the production of recyclate for demanding applications, including in food, cosmetics and personal care packaging.
As part of the European recycling trade fair, Lindner will present integrated, engineered solutions and innovative technologies for plastics processing. Under the motto “Ready for the future of your business”, the company positions itself as a technology partner for recycling plants, plastics producers and converters seeking stable, scalable and field-proven mechanical recycling solutions. The technology partnership between Lindner Washtech and EREMA demonstrates how integrated process chains can set new benchmarks for the industry, both in terms of final product quality and process repeatability. Highlights at the company’s stand will include solutions in mechanical recycling that enable recyclate purity levels suitable for use in the food, cosmetics and personal care sectors.
Complete process chains in plastics recycling
Lindner can look back on almost 80 years of experience in waste management and recycling, which translates into a strong position as a solutions provider for the recycling industry. The company’s portfolio covers powerful stand-alone machines as well as integrated systems that encompass consecutive process stages. The range is complemented by extensive service offerings and lifecycle management solutions for recycling plants. In the plastics recycling segment, Lindner has for decades covered the key process steps of shredding, sorting and washing. Its international project and process expertise is demonstrated by more than 250 washing plants and recycling line components installed worldwide.
Thanks to the technology partnership between Lindner Washtech and EREMA, the recycling process is represented as a fully consistent sequence of operations. Lindner Washtech’s experience in mechanical feedstock preparation, including shredding, separation, cold and hot washing, and EREMA’s know-how in extrusion, are combined into one continuous process line. The result is an integrated solution that covers the entire cycle, from the inflow of post-consumer material to the final recyclate.
Within their joint Added Values project, the two companies have developed a package of benefits aimed at optimising material flow, energy efficiency, plant availability and process stability. Standardised interfaces, consistent system networking with key data exchange and joint first-level support increase process transparency as well as operational and investment security. In addition to harmonised machine engineering, customers gain added value from coordinated project management, which translates measurably into quality, throughput and cost efficiency.

Bottle-to-bottle: food-grade recyclate quality
One of the topics presented by Lindner at PRSE will be the recycling of post-consumer plastics, including packaging for food products. Producing food-grade recyclate is regarded as one of the most demanding tasks in plastics recycling. Food-grade recyclates are secondary plastics that have been verified for compliance with hygiene, safety and purity requirements, enabling their reuse in the food packaging value chain.
In cooperation with Northern Irish recycling company Polymer Matters, Lindner shows how food-grade rHDPE recyclate can be produced on an industrial scale from used milk bottles using state-of-the-art washing and extrusion technologies. The core of the solution is a precisely coordinated process that includes sorting, cold washing, hot washing, followed by extrusion combined with thermal decontamination. The first phase of the European Food Safety Authority procedure has already been completed, which means that the recyclate produced can be used to manufacture new milk bottles.
The reference project implemented with Polymer Matters demonstrates that a fully integrated and energy-efficient mechanical recycling process, combined with high recyclate quality, can pave the way for high-demand applications such as food-grade recycling.

Flexloop technology for advanced mechanical decontamination
Lindner will also present the Flexloop mechanical recycling technology, originally developed by Procter & Gamble. The company holds the exclusive global licence for Flexloop and has scaled this technology up for industrial applications. Flexloop uses a solvent-based extraction process to selectively remove contaminants from polymer chains, such as non-intentionally added substances (NIAS), odours, adhesives and printing inks, while maintaining polymer integrity.
The level of material purity achieved opens up new application options for recyclates, particularly where enhanced sensory and chemical cleanliness is required. This applies, among others, to packaging in the cosmetics and personal care sectors, where regulatory requirements and end-user expectations regarding the sensory properties of the material are particularly high.
PRSE as a platform for future-proof solutions
As an established European trade fair dedicated to plastics recycling, the Plastics Recycling Show Europe brings together technological innovation, knowledge exchange and networking in one place, creating favourable conditions for discussions on how the industry can respond to current market and regulatory challenges. Lindner’s offering, focused on process stability, consistent recyclate quality and energy efficiency of plants, fits into this context.
"Volatile raw material markets, rising oil prices and high energy costs are currently putting pressure on the plastics and recycling sector" says Matthias Egarter, CEO of Lindner. "This makes it all the more important to ensure efficient and stable processes throughout the supply chain. Such processes reduce operating expenses while simultaneously improving recyclate quality, opening up new business areas for recycling companies, for instance in regulated segments such as food, cosmetics and personal care packaging."
Lindner presentation at the PRSE conference
During the conference accompanying the trade fair, a presentation by Lindner is scheduled under the title "Enabling Food-Grade Approved Recyclate. The Polymer Matters Success Story.". The presentation will take place on Wednesday, 6 May 2026, from 13:10 to 13:40 in Conference Theatre 1. It will focus on practical aspects of implementing technologies that enable the production of food-grade recyclate, including experience gained from the project carried out with Polymer Matters.
