Prior registration as a participant is required before purchasing a ticket. After registering, it is possible to schedule meetings with exhibitors and prepare an individual agenda of discussions.
Scope of the event and participant profile
According to the organiser, the Central European Plastics Meeting is one of the most important plastics industry events in Central Europe and has been held for nine years. The format is based on a series of pre-organised B2B meetings. Participants come mainly from Central European countries, but visitors from Germany, Austria and Italy also attend the event. Regular participants include plastics converters, polymer manufacturers and trading companies, which, according to the organiser, form a cohesive, collaborative community.
The technical language of the event will be English. Serbian-English and English-Serbian simultaneous interpretation will be provided during the plenary sessions. The organiser emphasises that participants have the opportunity to build business relationships and exchange information on current challenges related to competitiveness and the green transition of the plastics industry.
Meeting organisation and scope of services
The event model is based on an intensive schedule of discussions. According to the organiser, visitors who plan their time properly can hold up to 12 meetings per day with exhibitors. Meetings are initiated by participants, but exhibitors can also send invitations. It is recommended to arrive with a pre-prepared list of companies to be met. In addition to scheduled meetings, participants can have further discussions during coffee breaks, lunch and the Wednesday evening reception.
One of the distinguishing features of the event is that full-day catering is included in the ticket price. As part of the fee, participants receive coffee, snacks and lunch, as well as a toast on the first day. The organiser argues that free admission does not support the business-focused nature of the meetings, whereas a ticket that includes services at a defined standard acts as a filter that mainly attracts companies oriented towards concrete cooperation.
Benefits for exhibitors and visitors
The organiser points to different areas of benefit for exhibitors and visitors. For exhibitors, participation in the two-day event in Belgrade is intended to provide an opportunity to enter a market that has been partly unexplored so far and to build dozens of contacts that can later be turned into concrete business projects.
According to the organiser, visitors become part of an established, collaborative network of contacts, referred to as an Instant Network, available for the price of a single ticket. Through their participation they can get to know new potential suppliers and sourcing opportunities, as well as expand their cooperation portfolio in the region.
In addition, the participation fee gives visitors one-year access to the plasticsmeeting.com platform, which can serve as a database of suppliers from the plastics industry.
Importance of the location: Serbia and Sava Center
The 2026 edition will take place in Serbia, at the Sava Center congress venue in Belgrade. The organiser justifies the choice of location by highlighting the importance of the former Yugoslavia region as a still functioning market, where the successor states, including Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and North Macedonia, continue to cooperate economically. For many Central European companies this area remains relatively unexplored in terms of business opportunities. Participation in the event is intended to provide exposure to this market by bringing together, in one place, representatives of companies operating in the region.
Sava Center, historically associated with the activities of the Non-Aligned Movement, has been indicated as a venue where the future of the plastics industry, as well as challenges linked to competitiveness and the green transition, can be discussed openly and without ideological barriers.
