Amcor, a global packaging producer, has launched a new standard plastic bottle intended for the beauty and personal care sector. The Mocha model has been designed to stand out on the shelf due to its shape, while allowing extensive customization tailored to a specific brand and product line. The solution is offered with a low minimum order quantity, which enables faster market introduction of new packaging formats also for smaller companies.
The Mocha bottle is characterized by a rounded base and distinctly profiled, curved shoulders, which enhance its visual impact at the point of sale. The design provides a large decoration area that can be used for individual branding, labelling or printing. The manufacturer highlights the possibility to specify the bottle in various colors and finishes, which allows the appearance of the packaging to be aligned with the character of the product and the brand’s visual identity.
Applications and size variants
The Mocha bottle is intended primarily for products in the beauty and personal care segment. Target applications include hair care products, bath and shower preparations, and skincare products. The packaging is available in three sizes: 100 ml, 250 ml and 500 ml, which enables the creation of consistent product families within a single line.
Each size variant can be combined with different types of closures, including flip-top caps and dispensing pumps. This makes it possible to configure a complete packaging solution adapted to the properties of the product, its viscosity or the intended mode of use. The manufacturer points out that this enables customers to source both bottles and compatible closures from a single supplier.
Low order quantity and lead time
For the Mocha bottle, the minimum order quantity has been set at 10,000 units. According to the manufacturer, delivery can be completed within as little as eight weeks. These parameters are intended to facilitate the use of the solution not only by large brands but also by smaller companies and market entrants in the cosmetics sector, which often operate with limited budgets and take a cautious approach to stocking new packaging formats.
As emphasized by Lara Alemany, product line director at Amcor Global Rigids Packaging Solutions, combining packaging appeal with short development and delivery times is crucial for operating in the competitive beauty and personal care market. In her view, the Mocha bottle provides a base that can be personalized in many ways, and the low order quantity makes Amcor’s technical solutions more accessible to smaller businesses.
Closure options and dispensing solutions
Among the closures and dispensing systems available for the Mocha bottle are various pump and cap variants. For the 250 ml and 500 ml sizes, the manufacturer offers the possibility of using the Wave 2 cc dispenser. This is a dispensing pump with a modern appearance and a sleek actuator, designed for easy and controlled product application. Such a solution can be particularly relevant for higher value products, where dosing precision matters to the end user.
Lara Alemany describes the Mocha bottle as an example of how manufacturing flexibility can give a standard solution an individual character. In her opinion, the ability to configure color, finish, size and closure type means that the standard bottle format can be adapted to the specific requirements of different brands and product segments within the beauty and personal care market.
