Kraiburg TPE has been awarded the EcoVadis Gold medal, presented by the international provider of corporate sustainability ratings, for the second year in a row. The assessment covered all of the company’s sites worldwide, which jointly achieved this result. Kraiburg TPE reached new record values in each of the four assessment areas: environment, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. With a score in the 98th percentile, the company ranks among the top 2% of all firms assessed by EcoVadis worldwide, which underlines its position in the field of sustainable management.
The importance of measurable indicators and reliable benchmarks is increasing throughout the plastics processing value chain. Sustainability has become a permanent competitive factor both for material producers and for converters. Heightened public interest is no longer focused solely on isolated controversial issues but includes an expectation of transparent and comprehensible action on the part of companies. In this context, reliable key figures play a central role, as they make it possible to measure progress, verify improvements and enable objective comparisons within the industry.
Continuous improvement in EcoVadis performance
With more than 150,000 companies assessed and millions of individual ratings, EcoVadis is now one of the most widely used systems for evaluating corporate sustainability. The standard defined by this organization in the individual categories is both demanding and broad, covering environmental, social, ethical and supply chain related topics.
As early as its first participation in 2022, Kraiburg TPE was awarded the EcoVadis Silver medal. This was an important signal confirming that the company’s systematic approach to sustainability is aligned with the criteria of one of the leading international assessment methods in this field.
In 2025, Kraiburg TPE received the Gold medal for all of its sites worldwide for the first time. This result reflects the cooperation between units in different locations and the commitment of the workforce. During the regular reassessment process in January 2026, the distinction was maintained at the highest level, while the scores in all four categories were further improved. This highlights the ongoing improvement and consistent implementation of the sustainability strategy on a global scale.
The importance of consistency in achieving sustainability goals
"For us, this second Gold medal is in many respects a confirmation of the outstanding achievements we have made in the field of sustainability in recent years" is how Oliver Zintner, CEO of Kraiburg TPE, assesses this year’s result. "On the one hand, it shows how strong our position is in international comparison. Above all, however, the award highlights how consistently and persistently we pursue our sustainability goals in all categories."
Zintner points out: "Results like these are by no means a matter of course in our competitive environment. They are only possible because our colleagues at all sites worldwide work closely together on a partnership basis."
EcoVadis rating as a competitive factor in the market
In recent years, the importance of such ratings has also increased significantly in marketing and sales. Sustainability criteria are increasingly complementing the traditional parameters that determine purchasing decisions, such as product quality, price and delivery reliability. In the segment of polymer materials and plastic components, this trend can be observed both among global industrial groups and smaller converters operating in specialized niches.
"In addition to product quality, price and delivery reliability, sustainability criteria are becoming an increasingly important factor in our customers’ purchasing decisions" explains Michael Pollmann, Sales and Marketing Director EMEA. "The EcoVadis award reflects the consistency and transparency with which we implement our sustainability commitments. It is an important strategic competitive factor, gaining in relevance particularly in view of tightening legal requirements in areas such as supply chain assessment."
The result achieved by Kraiburg TPE confirms that a comprehensive approach to sustainability, covering the environment, social aspects, business ethics and sustainable procurement, can become an integral part of the business model in the plastics processing industry. At the same time, the strong position in the global EcoVadis ranking provides a measurable benchmark for further activities and potential improvements in the coming years.
