Hubergroup Print Solutions has introduced a new generation of offset inks using a new resin technology. According to the company, the solution is intended to provide fewer sheets required for make-ready, more repeatable colour reproduction and a substantial reduction in misting, including on high-speed printing presses. The manufacturer states that the new formulation delivers measurable improvements in printing process parameters while maintaining consistently high print quality. The relaunch covers conventional ink series for commercial and packaging printing, including Resista, Rapida, Packaging Plus, as well as MGA Natura and Corona. According to the company, during long-term production testing the resin technology demonstrated a measurable reduction in misting, a wider water window translating into greater print stability and significantly lower dampening levels. This is also said to result in fewer sheets required for on-press adjustments, stable print density, repeatable colour results and consistently good post-print performance.
Scope of implementation and timeline
Hubergroup plans to roll out the new resin technology across its entire global portfolio of conventional offset inks in the first half of 2026. The company notes that product names and sales codes will remain unchanged, which is intended to support a smooth transition to the new formulation.
Other developments in printing and packaging
In other news from the printing sector, Mondi recently announced brown kraft liner packaging with white digital printing, developed for customer Riedel Glas. The solution was designed to support the market launch of the All American Bourbon glass series. The company adds that its digital printing is based on data-to-print technology and does not require printing plates.
Xaar, in turn, presented the black version of its Versatex printbar at Interpack 2026. The solution is intended to enable high-definition black 1D and 2D variable data printing on existing analogue label presses and finishing lines. According to the manufacturer, Versatex Black provides stable and repeatable jetting of black inks even at high speeds, resulting in clear, high-contrast codes that remain readable under different production conditions and on a range of substrates.
