Conference programme for AMI Compounding & Recycling Expo

Conference programme for AMI…

AMI has published the conference programme for Compounding & Recycling Expo, which will take place on 23-24 September 2026 at Messe Frankfurt in Germany. The two-day agenda includes expert presentations across two free-to-attend conference areas, one dedicated to recycling and the other to compounding. According to the organiser, the programme combines keynote presentations, technical talks, case studies and panel discussions. The conference is intended to provide a substantive complement to the technologies presented simultaneously on the exhibition floor.

Peter Hannan-Young, Expo Content Manager at AMI, emphasised that the organiser's goal is to prepare a focused and practical programme that responds to the industry's real challenges. As he stated, "Our goal is to deliver a highly focused and practical conference programme that reflects the real challenges facing the industry. By bringing together experts from across the recycling and compounding sectors, we are creating a platform for knowledge sharing that supports innovation, advances material performance, and accelerates progress towards a circular plastics economy."

The speaker line-up will include representatives of many companies active in the plastics and recycling sectors. The announcement mentions, among others, Constantia, Coveris, Delta Kunststoffe, Holland Colours, Ineos, Lifocolor Farben, Maag and Netzsch. The programme covers both regulatory issues and topics related to processing technology, material innovation and the use of recycled raw materials in demanding applications.

Programme scope

The announced presentations include talks on European Union targets for recycled plastic content, safety and sustainability of food contact packaging, new additive technologies improving polymer processing, post-consumer recycling of nylon 6,6, and factors limiting compounding performance. According to the organiser, the programme also focuses on key issues currently shaping the plastics industry, including regulatory developments such as PPWR, progress in mechanical and chemical recycling, material innovation, and the integration of recycled materials into high-performance applications.

The featured presentations include:

  • EU recycled plastic content targets, advancing a coherent framework in a global context, Maria Vera Duran, Policy Director, Recycling Europe,
  • innovative strategies for ensuring safety and sustainability in food contact packaging, Marinella Vitulli, CEO, Food Contact Centre,
  • improving polymer processing with new additive technologies, Kim Van de Velde, Application Engineer, 3M,
  • advancing post-consumer recycling of nylon 6,6, Michael Heeran, European Technical Marketing Manager for Nylon Polymer, Invista,
  • formulating or processing, identifying the real limiting factor in compounding performance, Luis Roca Blay, compounding leader, AIMPLAS.

Panel discussions and registration

The organiser also announces panel discussions devoted to some of the most urgent industry challenges. The listed topics include the future of rPET, the economics of recycling, the role of regulation as a driver of change, as well as changing market requirements for masterbatch, PVC compounds and bioplastics.

The detailed programme, together with information on sessions and speakers, has already been made available by AMI.

Registration for the event includes free access to all conference sessions.
