interpack 2029: early summer date and new runtime

interpack 2029: early summer…

Following the conclusion of interpack 2026, the organisers are turning their attention to the next edition of the event and announcing changes concerning both the date and the duration of the trade fair. The next interpack will take place from 10 to 15 June 2029. This means moving the world's leading trade fair for processing and packaging to early summer and introducing a new schedule covering six days, from Sunday to Friday. As emphasised, the format adjustment is intended as a response to the growing importance of efficiency in participation at international trade fairs and to the need to create conditions conducive to valuable business contacts. According to the organisers, the experience of interpack 2026, including industry meetings, concluded deals and the exchange of inspiration, continues to have an impact on the market, while preparations for the further development of the event are being carried out in parallel.

interpack Director Thomas Dohse indicated that the development of the format results from the event's market position and the need to adapt it to participants' expectations. As he stated, "interpack is the most important platform in its sector. Building on this position, we are consistently developing the event further. We listen carefully to what exhibitors and visitors need and are creating a format that will support their success at the trade fair even more effectively. This is the first visible sign of that. Further innovations will follow."

New schedule from 2029

According to the announcement, interpack 2029 will run for six days, from Sunday to Friday. The organisers indicate that this solution is intended to combine the event's international reach with greater efficiency for exhibitors and visitors. The change is also meant to address the frequently expressed expectation of a more compact schedule that enables better use of time spent at the trade fair and a stronger focus on higher-quality contacts.

As stated, the decision was preceded by detailed discussions with exhibiting companies. It was also extensively discussed with the interpack Advisory Board and international industry associations. In the organisers' view, close cooperation with the industry and flexibility in responding to new conditions remain among the key factors in the event's success.

Early summer instead of the previous date

According to the organisers, the new early-summer date is intended to tie in with the characteristic atmosphere of interpack. It was noted that the walkways, outdoor areas and the entire exhibition grounds are once again expected to become intensively used places for meetings and interaction. This arrangement is intended to strengthen the event's role as a global meeting place for the processing and packaging community, complementing the presentation of innovations, discussions and business negotiations taking place in the exhibition halls.
