Colines and No.El. on trends after Interpack 2026

Colines and No.El. on trends…

Sustainability and efficiency are increasingly shaping the direction of the packaging industry. This is the conclusion presented by Colines and No.El. after Interpack 2026, which, as they emphasize, delivered very positive results for both companies. According to the companies, visitors were mainly interested in coreless stretch film and its applications. This segment is gaining importance as customers increasingly expect reduced material waste and improved environmental performance in packaging processes. The trade fair also provided an opportunity for a broader presentation of Safe Track, a patented solution designed for tamper-proof stretch film. As the companies report, the solution has already been validated in off-line configurations and is currently undergoing advanced testing for in-line integration on Colines extrusion lines.

In their post-event statement, representatives of both companies indicated that the interest observed at the fair confirms a shift in investment priorities in the packaging sector. In their view, issues related to material efficiency and sustainability are no longer an addition to corporate strategies, but are becoming one of the basic criteria for making technology decisions. At the same time, the companies note that the growing importance of stretch film solutions concerns both off-line systems and integration directly with production lines.

Coreless stretch film and tamper-proof protection

The information provided shows that coreless stretch film attracted particular attention from Interpack 2026 participants. This solution fits the drive of producers to reduce the use of auxiliary materials and limit waste generated in the packaging process. At the same time, interest is growing in technologies that increase the functionality of the film itself, including solutions that make it possible to protect packaging against unauthorized interference.

In this context, the companies pointed to Safe Track, a patented tamper-proof stretch film solution. The technology has already been confirmed in off-line systems, while advanced tests are currently being conducted regarding its implementation in an in-line configuration on Colines extrusion lines. This means a further development stage aimed at direct integration with the extrusion process.

Statements from company representatives

Nicola Lombardini, R&D manager and board member of Colines, commented: "Interpack 2026 clearly showed that the entire packaging world is becoming increasingly committed to sustainability and efficiency. Both are no longer an option for the plastics industry, as they have become completely central to every investment decision. This is the main reason why we invested in research and development so that our technologies can be aligned with these priorities, and today we offer technologies that serve as a market benchmark."

Roberto Colombo, global sales manager and board member of No.El., expressed a similar view: "Stretch film producers are becoming increasingly greener, and No.El. is moving in the same direction. Our customers were once again able to see first-hand that our off-line technologies for prestretched film and our in-line and off-line solutions for coreless stretch film are currently unmatched."

These statements indicate that both companies see the development of stretch film solutions as a response to growing market requirements in terms of reducing material losses, improving process efficiency and adapting technologies to sustainability goals.
