Brückner Maschinenbau presents film stretching solutions at Chinaplas 2026

Brückner Maschinenbau presents…

Brückner Maschinenbau announces a broad presentation of its latest film stretching technologies at Chinaplas 2026 in Shanghai (Hall 2.1, Stand G54). The company plans to present solutions combining high line output, low investment and production costs, and efficient operation, targeted at producers of packaging, technical and specialty films. The focus will be on lines for BOPP, BOPET, BOPE and BOPA film orientation, battery separator films, capacitor and composite current collector films, as well as installations for advanced high-temperature plastics such as PTFE, PI and PPS.

High-output BOPP lines for the Chinese market

Brückner Maschinenbau's BOPP technology combines a production speed of 700 m/min, a working width of 10.4 m and an output of up to 10 t/h. This configuration enables the production of a wide range of packaging films while maintaining high efficiency and flexibility for film producers.

The company announces the introduction of a 12 m wide BOPP film stretching line for the Chinese market, dedicated to commodity film production. This new generation line is intended to set new standards in productivity, efficiency and quality, while delivering the lowest specific investment and manufacturing costs. The solution is positioned as an attractive and future-proof option for entering next-generation BOPP production.

Battery separators: BSF lines with highest output

In the field of battery separator films, Brückner Maschinenbau offers lines that achieve an annual output of 500 million m² of saleable film, which according to the company is the highest in the industry and is intended to ensure long-term competitiveness for producers. For separator films with high puncture resistance, subjected to ultra-high stretching down to a thickness of 5 µm, a dedicated line layout is available.

BOPE as a basis for PE mono-material packaging

In response to sustainability requirements and increasing recycling targets, Brückner Maschinenbau has developed and implemented a line layout for BOPE-HD film production, based on a proven biaxial orientation configuration. In combination with PE blown films or BOPE-LLD film, it enables the creation of 100% polyethylene mono-material packaging structures.

The new line configuration allows processing of higher-density PE grades with lower melt index values, which broadens the range of mechanical and performance properties of films intended for packaging applications.

BOPET: high speed enabled by chain-track systems

For packaging applications in the BOPET segment, Brückner Maschinenbau offers lines with production speeds of up to 700 m/min, in which advanced chain-track systems play a key role. These solutions are designed to provide high process stability at high throughput.

The FOK 8.8 sliding chain track system enables production speeds of up to 700 m/min and is optimised for film thicknesses up to 36 µm. Its features include reduced mechanical complexity, which translates into lower service effort and cost, and consequently reduced operating costs.

The FOK 5.9 roller chain track system is the company's latest development, equipped with a patented spring-loaded bearing system. It is designed for film thicknesses up to 75 µm and production speeds up to 650 m/min.

Brückner Maschinenbau also reports the sale of the world's first 700 m/min BOPET line to a leading BOPET film producer in India. The line is scheduled to start operation in 2027.

BOPA: the widest lines on the market

In the BOPA film segment, Brückner Maschinenbau offers the widest production lines currently available on the market. The working width is 8.4 m for sequential stretching and 7.4 m for simultaneous stretching. Simultaneous orientation is implemented using Lisim technology, which allows the line to be adapted to various stretching modes and a wide range of applications.

BOPP-C capacitor films and CCCF composite current collectors

For many decades, Brückner Maschinenbau's biaxial stretching lines for capacitor films have been a benchmark for film quality and process stability. More recently, the same technological platforms have also been used for the production of composite films acting as current collectors.

Both simultaneous orientation lines using Lisim technology and sequential stretching lines are suitable for the production of very thin films down to 2 µm, used in applications requiring high energy density, including e-mobility. They also allow the production of thicker films in the 6.8–12 µm range, intended for capacitors for HVDC power transmission systems, converters in wind and solar power installations and other electrical capacitor applications.

Specialty film lines for high-temperature plastics

Brückner Maschinenbau is also developing solutions for specialty applications, including highly customised lines for the production of films from advanced high-temperature plastics such as PTFE, polyimide (PI), polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) and other high-performance materials. A key component of these installations is the transverse direction orienter TDO, capable of operating at process temperatures above 400°C.

The TDO orienter is designed to ensure process stability and high orientation precision even under extremely high temperature conditions, which is important for industrial applications requiring high thermal and chemical resistance. In response to growing demand in Asia, another PTFE film production line, specifically designed for the Chinese market, is scheduled to start operation in 2027.
