Vecoplan presents dry cleaning technology at PRS Europe

Vecoplan presents dry cleaning…

Plastics cleaning technologies, including in particular dry cleaning solutions, will be at the core of Vecoplan's presentation at PRS Europe 2026. The manufacturer of machinery and plants for plastics recycling will demonstrate how mechanical, water-free cleaning processes can be integrated into complete process lines and how they affect the stability of downstream processing stages and the quality of the extrusion feedstock. Visitors will be able to explore Vecoplan's portfolio, which covers both dry and wet cleaning systems, on 5–6 May 2026 at stand B98 during PRS Europe in Amsterdam.

Efficient and effective cleaning of post-consumer plastics is rapidly gaining importance in modern recycling lines. In particular, dry cleaning technology is becoming one of the key elements of contemporary, resource-efficient concepts for cleaning plastics streams. The mechanical process, which does not require process water, enables the production of flakes suitable for further processing in extrusion and, depending on the final application, can be fed directly into subsequent stages. In this way, dry cleaning creates important prerequisites for stable downstream processing and for ensuring consistently high material quality.

At PRS Europe, Vecoplan will present practical options for integrating the dry cleaning stage into overarching plant concepts for plastics recycling. The company will exhibit together with its subsidiary Pla.to, which specialises in dry cleaning and washing technologies, providing a comprehensive overview of available process variants. The solutions on show will illustrate how line configurations can be adapted to different waste streams and process requirements.

Cleaning solutions as an integrated process concept

By incorporating Pla.to into its structure, Vecoplan has strategically expanded its offering in plastics recycling. The manufacturer can now integrate cleaning technologies even more extensively into complete processing solutions and support customers from the shredding stage through to cleaning processes. In addition to dry cleaning systems, the company's portfolio also includes a range of wet cleaning solutions such as friction washers and mechanical dryers. This enables Vecoplan to address diverse requirements related to the processing of different plastics streams and to implement tailored cleaning solutions within broader process concepts.

Daniel Wienand, Head of Sales Europe at Vecoplan, highlights the importance of matching the technology to the specific material. As he explains, "Our priority is to find the right cleaning solution for each material stream." To this end, the company tests various plastics under real operating conditions in its in-house Cleanikum test centre and determines which method and configuration are best suited to the respective application. "This enables us to support customers in integrating cleaning technology in a way that makes technical sense within their overall process," adds Wienand.

At stand B98, Vecoplan will use real application examples to demonstrate how dry and wet cleaning stages can be adapted to different plastics streams and specific process requirements. The focus will be not only on individual machines but primarily on how the process steps interact, from system design through to integration within a complete plant.
