Syensqo has signed a new long-term supply agreement with Avio, reinforcing a long-standing collaboration in the field of advanced space launch systems. Under the agreement, the company will continue supplying high-performance composite solutions and adhesive materials for Avio’s launch vehicle programs. The statement highlights that Syensqo’s material technologies are used in critical space missions, and that their development is intended to support safer, more reliable, and more efficient access to space. The company also points to its long track record of innovation for the aerospace and space sector, from early space programmes to today’s next-generation launch systems.
Under the new agreement, Syensqo will supply ablative materials, resins for the RTM (resin transfer moulding) process, and adhesive materials designed for demanding space applications. These solutions are intended to support Avio’s launch vehicle programmes, including Vega-C, a European multi-mission launch vehicle capable of delivering payloads to a variety of orbital destinations. According to the information provided by the company, the supplied materials are expected to contribute to mission reliability and meeting operational requirements under high-load conditions.
Syensqo states that its materials are engineered to withstand extreme thermal and mechanical stresses. According to the statement, they are used in critical components such as rocket motor nozzles, exit cones, and structural elements, where durability and performance are essential. These areas are critical from the standpoint of structural integrity and stable propulsion system operation, particularly during launch and motor firing phases.
