Sikora reports strong K 2025 interest in measurement and sorting

Sikora reports strong K 2025…

At the K 2025 trade fair in Düsseldorf, measurement, control and sorting technology manufacturer Sikora reported a clear rise in booth traffic compared with the 2022 edition. While the majority of visitors came from Germany, the company noted strong international participation, including attendees from India, Japan and Turkey. The exhibit was positioned in line with the show's motto "The Power of Plastics! Green – Smart – Responsible", emphasizing quality assurance, process efficiency, reduced material consumption, support for circular economy practices and broader sustainability objectives. Conversations at the stand were numerous and technically detailed, reflecting focused interest in metrology for pipe, tube and sheet extrusion, alongside inspection, analysis and sorting systems for plastics production and processing. Product demonstrations covered inline measurement for complex pipe geometries and flat products, as well as contaminant inspection and pellet sorting. A dedicated after-sales area and hands-on training offer were also presented, and the company made its first public appearance under a new brand identity as part of the Maag Group.

Technology highlights

The technology showcase centered on inline measurement for extrusion and automated materials inspection. The radar-based Centerwave 6000 system measures tubes and pipes with diameters from 32 to 1,600 mm, capturing wall thickness, outer and inner diameters and the inner profile. For flat products, the Planowave 6000 enables precise, non-contact inline measurement of sheet thickness and density. In corrugated applications, the AI-powered X-ray 6000 Pro C-PipeAI targets dual-wall corrugated tubes and pipes, and a further X-ray solution addresses single-layer products. These systems are designed to support stable production conditions and material efficiency through continuous, high-resolution data.

Engagement and services

A focal point for visitor interaction was the "Human vs. Machine" campaign. Attendees could bring their own pellets or test plates for analysis with the Purity Concept V system, receiving immediate insights into material purity. In a live setup, the Purity Scanner Advanced demonstrated real-time inspection and sorting of pellets, allowing visitors to assess system throughput and detection capabilities first-hand.

The lounge area functioned as a meeting point for in-depth technical exchanges about specific applications, optimization potential and prospective collaborations. The after-sales service area enabled direct contact with service specialists to discuss tailored solutions. Interest was particularly high in the Sikora Academy, which offers practical device training aimed at optimal operation and maintenance, supporting process reliability and efficiency while limiting downtime.

Brand transition and outlook

The fair also marked Sikora’s first public appearance under its new brand identity within the Maag Group. According to the company, the repositioning was well received by customers and partners and reflects ongoing technological development and an international growth strategy. Holger Lieder, General Manager at Sikora, said: "The response to our technologies was impressive, we were delighted to welcome not only familiar customers to our booth, but also to establish numerous new contacts. We are particularly pleased that we were able to discuss concrete projects that we will now pursue further together with our partners."

Following a successful trade fair, the company reports a positive outlook for post-event business. Discussions at K 2025 provided key impulses for new projects and the advancement of existing partnerships. Sikora also signaled its intention to return for the next K edition in 2028.
