Sidel strengthens its presence in West Africa at Agrofood Nigeria 2026

Sidel strengthens its presence…

Sidel announces its active participation in Agrofood Nigeria 2026, highlighting the combination of its global expertise in packaging with its expanded local presence in Nigeria. The event will take place from 24 to 26 March at the Landmark Centre in Lagos and will bring together technology suppliers, producers and decision-makers from across the agro-industrial value chain. The company will be present at stand 1F.32, where it will showcase its latest solutions in blowing and packaging technology, as well as present the range of service and technical support available to customers in West Africa. This participation is directly linked to the opening of Sidel's new office in Lagos, which is intended to serve as a regional hub for project management, engineering, after-sales service and customer relations, strengthening the company's long-term commitment to market development and close cooperation with producers in the region.

New Lagos office as a regional support hub

Sidel's participation in Agrofood Nigeria 2026 follows the launch of its new office in Lagos in October 2025. This strategic move is aimed at bringing the company closer to customers across Nigeria and neighboring West African markets. The office serves as a regional center for project management, engineering, after-sales service and customer relations, forming an important element of Sidel's long-term presence strategy in the region.

With a permanent team in Lagos, Sidel can work more closely with local producers, better understand the specifics of their processes and respond more quickly to operational and investment needs. During the trade fair, the company intends to demonstrate how its local presence translates into closer cooperation with customers, including service, technical field support and more intensive day-to-day interaction.

The local engineering teams and field service in Lagos enable Sidel to support customers not only in selecting technology and designing production lines, but also in areas related to operational efficiency, line performance and its long-term reliability. In a situation of growing competition and changing production requirements, access to such support in the region is becoming increasingly important.

Importance of the Nigerian and West African markets

Nigeria is the largest consumer market in Africa and the main driver of economic growth in the region. The food sector in the country is developing dynamically, and ongoing urbanisation and population growth are increasing the demand for modern food and beverage processing and packaging solutions. This translates into rising expectations towards technology suppliers, who must combine high efficiency, cost competitiveness and flexibility adapted to changing market needs.

In this context, Sidel sees its participation in Agrofood Nigeria 2026 as an opportunity to present an offering tailored to local conditions. As emphasised by Dan Olivier, Vice President for Equipment Sales in the Middle East and Africa at Sidel: "Nigeria and the broader West African market offer significant growth opportunities for food and beverage producers, and customers are increasingly looking for partners who can combine advanced technology with flexible local support."

Olivier also adds: "Our participation in Agrofood Nigeria reflects this approach. By combining Sidel's global expertise in packaging with its increasingly strong local presence in Lagos, we are able to provide customers with even better support, offering them the right equipment, service and solutions tailored to their development plans."

EvoBLOW Laser as an example of innovation in PET blowing

One of the key highlights at Sidel's stand will be EvoBLOW Laser, the company's latest solution in PET bottle blowing technology. The system uses laser preform heating instead of traditional halogen systems, enabling highly precise material distribution in the bottle.

More precise control over material distribution supports further reduction of packaging weight while maintaining required performance parameters, as well as improving production line efficiency. The use of laser heating is also important in the context of processing recycled raw materials. EvoBLOW Laser facilitates the use of recycled PET, including up to 100% rPET in industrial conditions, aligning with the growing importance of solutions consistent with the principles of sustainable development.

The EvoBLOW Laser solution has been designed to help producers reduce material and energy consumption while maintaining required bottle properties. It thus reflects Sidel's focus on packaging quality and production process efficiency combined with environmental aspects.

Flexible packaging systems for the food and personal care sectors

Visitors to Sidel's stand at Agrofood Nigeria 2026 will also be able to learn more about the company's broad portfolio of packaging technologies for the food and personal care industries. The offer includes both traditional and robotic pick-and-place systems with bottom, side or top loading, as well as wrapping solutions.

Such configured systems are intended to allow packaging lines to be adapted to diverse product configurations, packaging formats and performance requirements. Packaging flexibility is particularly important in developing markets, where producers often serve different market segments in parallel and introduce new packaging formats in response to changing consumer preferences.

Synergy within the Sidel Group and solutions for lower and medium speeds

Synergy, a company belonging to the Sidel Group, will also be present at Sidel's stand. Synergy will showcase PET packaging solutions designed for low and medium speed applications. These are solutions designed to be economical and scalable, which is particularly important for smaller producers and new market entrants planning a gradual expansion of their production capacities.

The joint presence of Sidel and Synergy makes it possible to present an offering that covers a broad spectrum of customer needs in West Africa. On the one hand, this concerns established producers seeking high-performance, integrated production lines, and on the other, smaller companies and new market players who require reliable, scalable solutions adapted to planned business growth.

Local service and technical expertise as support for producers

In the context of growing competition and changing production requirements, access to local technical expertise and after-sales support is becoming crucial for producers across West Africa. The establishment of Sidel's permanent team in Lagos enables closer cooperation with customers, better understanding of local operational challenges and the provision of faster and more flexible service support.

At Agrofood Nigeria 2026, Sidel, present at stand 1F.32, plans to demonstrate how the combination of global packaging expertise with local engineering, service and customer care can support producers in West Africa. This support includes improving production performance, streamlining processes and gradually expanding operational scale in line with market needs.
