The Supervisory Board of Grupa Azoty, at its meeting on 15 December 2025, decided to appoint Mirosław Ptasiński to the management board of Grupa Azoty S.A. as of 16 December 2025. The newly appointed board member assumed the position of vice president. At the same time, the Supervisory Board determined that the management board of the company for the 13th term would consist of six members, including five appointed following a qualification procedure and one member elected by the employees. This decision is part of the process of shaping the management body of one of the key entities of the Polish chemical sector, which is important for the market of raw materials and intermediates used in the plastics, fertilizer and processing industries. The appointment of Mirosław Ptasiński, a manager with many years of experience in finance, production, sales, logistics and IT management, strengthens Grupa Azoty's management competencies in operational and strategic areas relevant to the company's activities.
Experience and competencies of the new vice president
Mirosław Ptasiński is a graduate of the University of Economics in Katowice and Lodz University of Technology. He also completed Executive MBA studies conducted by GFKM at the University of Gdansk and RSM Erasmus University Rotterdam, obtaining the Executive MBA title. He has more than 25 years of experience in managing finance, production processes, sales teams, controlling, logistics and IT.
In his professional career to date, he has specialized in strategic management and the streamlining of business operations aimed at improving performance, efficiency and profitability of organizations. This experience covers both the financial and industrial sectors, including industries with a high level of process complexity and extensive production and logistics infrastructure.
Professional career path
Mirosław Ptasiński began his professional career in 1996 at Bank Przemysłowo Handlowy S.A., where he was promoted from the position of clerk to branch director. In 2002 he was appointed vice president of the management board of Luna Polska Sp. z o.o.
From 2010 to 2016 he served as vice president of the management board of Grupa Azoty Zakłady Azotowe Kędzierzyn S.A., while at the same time holding the position of president of the management board of ZAKSA S.A. Subsequently, in 2017, he became a member of the management board at Flex-Trade Sp. z o.o. At Alchemia S.A. he was responsible for marketing and strategic customers as marketing and strategic customers director.
Since 2019 he has served as president of the management board and managing director at European Steel Group Sp. z o.o. Since 20 May 2024 he has held the position of president of the management board and general director of Grupa Azoty Zakłady Azotowe Kędzierzyn S.A., which further strengthens his knowledge of the specific nature of Grupa Azoty's operations, including production processes and the market environment.
Involvement in supervisory bodies
The new vice president of the management board of Grupa Azoty S.A. completed a course for candidates for supervisory boards of companies with State Treasury participation, which ended with a state examination and the granting of rights to sit on supervisory boards by the Minister of the State Treasury. Currently, Mirosław Ptasiński serves as chairman of the supervisory board of Zakład Lecznictwa Ambulatoryjnego Sp. z o.o. The scope of this experience covers both industrial and chemical companies, as well as service providers and entities operating in the business environment of industry.
Composition of the management board of Grupa Azoty S.A. for the 13th term
In line with the decision of the Supervisory Board, the management board of Grupa Azoty S.A. for the 13th term has been set at six members. In this governance structure, five of them were appointed through a qualification process and one was elected by the employees. This configuration of the management body is intended to provide, on the one hand, managerial competencies resulting from a competitive procedure and, on the other hand, employee representation.
