Emirates Biotech will take part in Saudi Plastics & Petrochem 2026, which will be held in Riyadh at the Riyadh International Convention & Exhibition Centre from 21 to 24 June. The company will be present at the United Arab Emirates Pavilion, where it will present Embio PLA biopolymers and their applications across various market segments. According to the company, its presence at the event will also mark the official introduction of the Embio PLA portfolio to the Saudi market. The company points to the environmental benefits of plant-based biopolymers in applications such as packaging, food service ware, consumer goods, 3D printing and other everyday products. Visitors to the stand will be able to meet the regional sales team and obtain information about the Embio PLA range and its commercial availability across the Middle East.
Introduction of Embio PLA to the Saudi market
François de Bie, Chief Commercial Officer of Emirates Biotech, highlighted the importance of the event for establishing contacts in Saudi Arabia's rapidly developing plastics and sustainability market. "The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is an attractive and fast-growing market for sustainable materials. Biopolymers such as PLA create opportunities for the Kingdom to achieve its Vision 2030 sustainability goals; PLA supports the transition towards more circular and responsible material solutions."
The company also announced a strengthening of its commercial presence in the region. Hashim Alfulful recently joined Emirates Biotech as Sales Development Manager responsible for Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Kuwait. As he noted: "Having a dedicated presence in Saudi Arabia allows us to work closely with customers and support them in evaluating and implementing PLA solutions. We look forward to building strong partnerships as the market continues to demand more sustainable materials."
Applications and properties of PLA
The range of applications presented includes packaging, food service ware, consumer goods and 3D printing. The company also emphasises the commercial availability of Embio PLA products in Middle Eastern markets.
Prashant Lohade, Sales Development Manager responsible for the UAE, Oman and India, also referred to the material's properties. "PLA biopolymers not only offer a reduced carbon footprint, but PLA is also recyclable and biodegradable. It also does not leave microplastics in the environment."
