Fanuc Poland opens technology competence center in Wrocław

Fanuc Poland opens technology…

Fanuc Poland has launched a new headquarters in Wrocław, which operates as one of the most advanced technology competence centers in the country in the field of industrial automation. The 9,812 m² facility integrates office functions, advanced service, a local spare parts warehouse, a retrofit area, laboratories, a modern technology showroom and an expanded Fanuc Academy. The new location at 2 Sakury Street is a response to the dynamic growth of the Polish branch, the increasing demand for automation and the expectations of customers and industrial partners, including manufacturers using plastics injection moulding technologies.

The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of Fanuc’s global structures: Kenji Yamaguchi, President & CEO Fanuc Corporation, Marco Ghirardello, President & CEO Fanuc Europe, and Jędrzej Kowalczyk, President of the Management Board of Fanuc Poland. During the event, the participants emphasised both the importance of the Polish market in Fanuc’s European network and the role of the new center as a platform for implementing modern solutions for the automation, robotisation and digitalisation of production processes. Attention was also drawn to the possibility of comprehensive support for users of CNC machine tools and control systems, industrial robots, Roboshot injection moulding machines and other Fanuc equipment installed in industrial plants in Poland.

A new stage in the development of Fanuc Poland

The new Fanuc Poland facility has been designed as a base for the further development of the company on the domestic market. Its location on major transport routes, close to the A4 and A8 motorways and the S5 expressway, facilitates access for customers and partners from various regions of the country.

Jędrzej Kowalczyk, President of the Management Board of Fanuc Poland, described the opening of the new headquarters as an important step in the development of the company’s local structures.

“Today’s event is more than the opening of a new building for us. It is a symbolic new beginning, a milestone that opens up completely new opportunities for us,” emphasised Jędrzej Kowalczyk.

Marco Ghirardello, President & CEO Fanuc Europe, pointed out the position of the Polish market in Fanuc’s European network. He indicated that Fanuc Poland is part of an extensive structure that supplies innovative technologies and high‑quality services, supporting customers’ competitiveness and the development of the industry of the future.

Kenji Yamaguchi, President & CEO Fanuc Corporation, referred to the observed increase in demand for automation in industry. He presented selected new products from the company’s portfolio, including Fanuc 500i‑A CNC controls, the new generation of αi‑D Servo systems, the R‑50iA robot controller and the extended CRX cobot series. These solutions are designed to support companies in addressing current production challenges and implementing advanced, flexible automation systems.

Technology showroom and applications for industry

An important element of the new center is an 808 m² showroom presenting the full portfolio of Fanuc solutions. The area has been designed as a place to demonstrate real scenarios of digital transformation, from concept through to operational applications. The showroom enables testing of solutions and assessment of their suitability for specific production conditions.

The central element of the exhibition is a fully automated production line for robot models. The lines are supported by artificial intelligence systems responsible for component logistics, and the entire installation is integrated with an MES system. The Field system Basic Package platform has been implemented to ensure high cybersecurity standards and full control over the processes taking place within the production cell.

The showroom also includes an extensive presentation of applications prepared jointly with partners, reflecting typical production processes in industry. These include, among others, welding of large‑scale structures, integrated machining on a single table, EDM, plastics injection moulding, as well as laser solutions and specialised automation workstations.

“Our technologies enable monitoring of machine efficiency (OEE), analysis of the achievement of production targets and precise assessment of return on investment (ROI),” noted Jędrzej Kowalczyk.

Expanded service and the “Service First” philosophy

A significant part of the new facility has been allocated to service functions. On an area of 3,919 m², an expanded service zone has been created, which includes technical support areas, a local spare parts warehouse covering 2,726 m², a 304 m² retrofit area and laboratories occupying 374 m². This configuration makes it possible to shorten service response times and increase the availability of key components.

Kenji Yamaguchi recalled the “Service First” philosophy applied in the company.

“The ‘Service First’ policy means lifetime technical support for our products, even 20 or 30 years after installation. Fanuc has over 280 service offices worldwide and supports customers in more than 100 countries,” he underlined.

This approach is particularly important in the case of highly automated applications, including robotised plastics injection moulding cells, where the availability of machines and control systems has a direct impact on production continuity and process economics.

Fanuc Academy and competence development

The new facility has made it possible to significantly expand training activities within Fanuc Academy. An area of 2,223 m² houses 18 training rooms and 32 training stations. The training facilities are operated by a team of 10 specialised trainers. According to the assumptions, Fanuc Academy can train over 1,500 specialists per year, offering practical courses for both beginners and advanced users, covering the full Fanuc product portfolio.

The educational section is complemented by a 195 m² multimedia auditorium adapted for workshops, conferences and open days. This type of infrastructure supports the exchange of experience between users of automation systems and enables the presentation of solutions in direct relation to shop‑floor practice.

Facility infrastructure and equipment

The new Fanuc Poland building combines functionality, ergonomics and solutions in line with current trends in the design of industrial and office facilities. The building is equipped, among other things, with an intelligent Building Management System (BMS), an access control system (ACS), green zones, quiet and integration areas, as well as chargers for electric vehicles. In the technical section, overhead travelling cranes with lifting capacities of 25 t and 16 t have been installed, enabling the handling of heavy components and equipment.

The building features a 257 m² canteen and 9 conference rooms designed for various types of business and technical meetings. The entire facility is located on a 44,895 m² plot, taking into account infrastructure for customer and partner service and internal logistics.

Scale of installations and support for industry

Fanuc Poland currently services a significant installed base of equipment. Under the company’s care are 9,800 robots, 12,000 CNC systems, 810 Robodrill machining centres, 184 Robocut EDM machines, 213 Roboshot injection moulding machines and 156 lasers installed in plants across the country. The new headquarters is intended to enable even more effective support for users of these systems, including companies from the plastics processing industry using Roboshot injection moulding machines and robotised production cells.

The company stresses that the launch of the new center in Wrocław will make it possible to continue supporting customers in building competitive advantages through process automation, optimisation of machine utilisation and the implementation of systems for monitoring production parameters and efficiency.

Prepared for future industrial challenges

Summarising the opening, Jędrzej Kowalczyk highlighted the role of the new headquarters in Fanuc Poland’s long‑term strategy.

“We invite you to jointly shape a future based on innovation and advanced automation. The Fanuc Poland team is ready to support customers at every stage, from concept, through production tests, to a full investment analysis,” he stated.

The new technology competence center in Wrocław provides a base for further development of automation in Polish industry, including the plastics processing sector, offering a combination of technology demonstrations, service support and competence development for users.
