Every year, Elix Polymers undergoes a series of strict audits and assessments. This year, 2020, the company has undergone once again the annual evaluation conducted by EcoVadis, a reputed agency in the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) area. Elix Polymers has renewed the EcoVadis GOLD level CSR certification in the ranking published by the agency, an independent rating entity specialising in sustainable development and performance control.

Elix Polymers, which submitted its sustainability data to EcoVadis for evaluation, has maintained its standards in all areas and was included in the Top 2%, which incorporates the best companies of all those rated, with a score of 71 out of 100, thus enabling the company to obtain the GOLD qualification and demonstrating that its performance is above the average of all the companies assessed. “We are proud to say that this year, we have again obtained the highest rating awarded in the EcoVadis certification. This recognition is the result of the consolidation of good practices in sustainability, in the widest sense, throughout our entire process chain. All this is the consequence of the firm belief of all our staff in CSR values and we would like to congratulate them for their effort and commitment“, says Judith Banus, Head of the Corporate Social Responsibility programme at Elix Polymers.

The company obtained its first certification in 2017, with the highest level of recognition, and this year 2020 it again obtained the GOLD medal, the highest rating currently awarded by EcoVadis. The agency evaluates suppliers from 110 countries in 150 different sectors, assessing their corporate policies, initiatives and achievements in areas related to the environment, work practices, fair trade practices and the supply chain, thus reflecting the performance of Elix Polymers in terms of CSR.

According to David Castañeda, the company’s CEO, “Elix Polymers is committed to the integration of SDGs as the drivers of its strategy in the forthcoming years, with the aim of providing a response to our society’s demand for a more sustainable economic model. This award is a token of this commitment, and it encourages us to continue to play an active part in rising to that challenge“.
