ENGEL strengthens its direct presence in the Spanish market

ENGEL strengthens its direct…

Injection moulding machine manufacturer ENGEL is expanding its direct presence in the Spanish market by rebranding its long-standing sales partner Roegele as ENGEL Spain. Since 1 April, the company has been operating in Spain as a wholly owned subsidiary of the group. For local plastics processors, this means combining continuity of cooperation with the existing team, present in the market for decades, with direct access to ENGEL's global portfolio of technology, service and solutions, including injection moulding machines, automation systems and digital production support tools.

Since 1972, Roegele has supported customers in Spain in the areas of sales, service, training and consulting for ENGEL injection moulding solutions in sectors such as automotive, packaging, medical and technical moulding. Building on this long-term cooperation, the injection moulding machine manufacturer has decided on the next step, namely full integration of the former partner into the group structure. Under the ENGEL Spain brand, customers will continue to benefit from the expertise and experience of the same local specialists and their knowledge of the specifics of the Spanish market, while local service and application engineering competencies will be more closely linked to ENGEL's international support network.

As emphasised by Daniel Vizuete, managing director of ENGEL Spain, integrating the sales and service unit into the group is intended to strengthen the company's presence in Spain and translate into the quality of technical support for injection moulding machine users. The expansion of structures and resources will cover both the service area and application engineering, with a focus on shorter response times and better availability of technical expertise on site at the customer.

Integration with the group and continuity of the local team

According to the company, the existing model of cooperation with plastics processors in Spain will be maintained in terms of operational contacts, while the change mainly concerns the ownership structure and the strengthening of links with the group headquarters. ENGEL Spain will continue to rely on long-standing customer relationships and the work of an experienced team, while being more fully integrated into ENGEL's global service and technical structures.

Within the new organisation, competencies in service and application engineering will be more closely integrated with the international support network. The aim is both to use group-wide know-how more efficiently and to make solutions and technological updates available to processors operating in the Spanish market more quickly. The company states that customers are expected to directly benefit from the combination of the local presence with the global development, service and application resources.

"Integration into the ENGEL Group strengthens our local presence in Spain and enables us to offer our customers even better service and technical support," said Daniel Vizuete, managing director of ENGEL Spain. This statement indicates that the key element of the changes is to increase the availability of service and consulting, as well as to align service standards with those in other units of the group.

Expansion of the technical facilities in Barcelona

An integral part of strengthening ENGEL's position in Spain is investment in technical and service infrastructure. At the Barcelona site, a technical centre is being established for training purposes, together with a showroom where injection moulding and automation solutions will be presented. This facility is intended to enable application tests, machine demonstrations and practical training for operators and maintenance technicians under near-production conditions.

According to the company, the expansion of the Barcelona facilities is expected to reinforce local technical support and shorten service response times. For plastics processors, it is also important to have the opportunity to familiarise themselves directly with the current range of machines, automation systems and digital solutions. ENGEL points out that the combination of the physical presence of the local centre with access to global technical resources is to become more easily available to Spanish users.

"With ENGEL Spain, we are creating the conditions to support our customers in the Spanish market even more directly and to further develop our local presence in a targeted manner," said Benjamin Lettner, vice president Europe West and East. "In doing so, we are building on long-established customer relationships and an experienced local team."

Importance of the Spanish market and the offer for processors

Spain is one of the key plastics processing markets in Europe and is an important area of activity for ENGEL in south-western Europe. The manufacturer has traditionally held a strong position in the Spanish automotive sector and at the same time sees growth potential in the packaging industry. Additional development opportunities are also linked to the second brand Wintec, aimed at specific application segments.

For plastics processors in Spain, this means broader access to solutions tailored both to technical requirements and to investment profitability. The portfolio includes injection moulding machines of various sizes and configurations, automation systems including linear robots, as well as digital assistance systems and solutions for monitoring and networking production cells.

ENGEL Spain presentation at the Equiplast trade fair in Barcelona

The current ENGEL Spain offering will be presented in more detail at the Equiplast trade fair, which will take place in early June in Barcelona. The company's stand will feature exhibits representing applications from the automotive, packaging and technical moulding sectors. Among the machines on display will be the tie-bar-less victory 120 injection moulding machine working with a viper 20 linear robot, as well as the all-electric e-mac 200 and e-motion 220 models.

The presentation will be complemented by the Wintec t-win 6500 injection moulding machine designed for applications requiring high clamping force. The stand will also showcase digital assistance systems and connected production solutions focused on process parameter monitoring and integration of machines within the plant environment. The presentation is intended to give visitors an overview of the scope of solutions that ENGEL Spain offers in the Spanish market, covering both equipment and digital tools supporting plastics processing.
