Coveris, a packaging manufacturer operating on the European market, will participate in the ExpoSweet 2026 trade fair in Warsaw. During the event, which will be held from 22 to 25 February 2026, the company will present a full range of packaging solutions available within the Group for the bakery and confectionery segment. The key focus areas of the presentation will be sustainability, the use of recycled materials and the reduction of product, packaging and operational waste, in line with the No Waste strategy. The display will include, among others, paper and composite fibre-based packaging, designs suitable for recycling in existing waste streams and formats that support extending the shelf life of bakery products and confectionery.
Visitors to the Coveris stand will be able to see a wide range of packaging for bakery products and sweets, including wicket bags, flat bottom gusseted bags and block-bottom bags, stand-up pouches, sandwich packs, wrapping paper and other solutions for food consumed on the go. These constructions have been designed to combine functionality with environmental aspects, providing recyclability, product protection, premium brand presentation and extended shelf life. The company emphasises that the development of its packaging solutions is based on the principles of the circular economy, including reducing plastics consumption and limiting food waste.
"Central and Eastern Europe remain key markets for Coveris, which is confirmed by our continued participation in the ExpoSweet trade fair. The event is an excellent platform to present our innovative, sustainable solutions designed to support the dynamically developing bakery and confectionery markets in this region," commented Emilio Vidri, Sales Director Consumer & Healthcare at Coveris.
Solutions for a circular economy in the food segment
One of the main innovations that Coveris will present in Warsaw will be recyclable Heat packaging based on composite fibreboard. This design has been developed to combine high hygiene requirements with the ability to heat products in an oven or microwave without removing them from the pack. The solution allows food to be prepared and sold in the same packaging, which reduces the need for additional layers or containers.
The use of composite fibre structures, combined with the lack of direct hand contact with the product, is intended to increase food safety and simplify in-store processes. Variants intended for heating are supplied as ready-to-use constructions, which helps to minimise additional packing operations. Coveris also points to the display properties of these packs related to product presentation on the retail shelf. The solution provides thermal insulation properties, making it suitable for baked goods offered for consumption while hot.
BarrierFresh MAP packaging with EVOH barrier
Another element of the offer for the bakery and confectionery sector will be BarrierFresh MAP packaging, available in two variants. The first is the BarrierFresh MAP tray, in which cardboard from sustainable sources is combined with a specially developed EVOH barrier film. According to the company, the tray design allows a 90 percent reduction in plastic usage while maintaining recyclability and a shelf life comparable to traditional solutions. The hermetically sealed pack is fully printable, which supports the development of consistent brand identity in the premium segment.
The second variant is BarrierFresh MAP packaging designed for packing sandwiches in modified atmosphere. The construction uses patented Freshlife technology and an EVOH barrier layer. The objective of this solution is to maintain the high quality and freshness of ready-made sandwich products throughout distribution and retail, helping to reduce food waste. The packaging also provides product protection and visibility, which facilitates shelf presentation.
MonoFlexFibre Pure Max for bars and chocolate
In the area of packaging for bars and chocolate products, Coveris will present the MonoFlexFibre Pure Max solution. This is a monomaterial paper-based packaging intended for packing cereal, protein and chocolate bars as well as chocolate tablets. Despite its paper-based structure, the solution offers barrier properties adapted to the requirements of such products, including protection against external factors that may affect their quality.
According to the manufacturer, MonoFlexFibre Pure Max packaging enables high-quality printing, which is important for brands operating in the competitive snacks segment. In addition, it has been designed to be recyclable in existing paper waste streams, aligning with market requirements for packaging design according to circular economy principles.

These will include stand-up pouches and flat-bottom bags intended for packing various bakery products and sweets. The company will also present wicket bags based on PP or CPP films, used in highly automated lines, and flat bottom gusseted bags based on kraft paper or paper with PE coating.
