Amcor launches a 38 mm handle for PET bottles

Amcor launches a 38 mm handle…

Amcor has introduced a new 38 mm handle for PET containers, expanding its offer for the beverage market. The solution was designed to make packages easier to carry and is intended primarily for water and other non-carbonated beverages. The new handle fits bottles with a 38 mm neck and is compatible with the Proxima Tethered Closure and other beverage closures in the company’s portfolio. It is intended for large PET containers of up to 10 litres, a segment in which consumer demand is increasing. According to the company, combining the 38 mm handle with the appropriate closure reduces weight by 34.5% compared with the 48 mm version. The design also includes retention tabs intended to keep the handle securely and tightly attached to the bottle neck.

As the manufacturer points out, the solution responds to growing interest in packaging formats with capacities from 5 to 10 litres. This applies particularly to uses related to purchasing larger volumes for the home, office or camping. In this segment, durable bottles are intended to provide ease of use, and the new handle is designed to make them easier to carry. In this way, Amcor points to the development of its portfolio in the area of packaging formats whose importance is growing along with changing purchasing patterns and consumer habits.

Uli Kobert, product line manager, Beverage Closures & Home Care Triggers at Amcor, said: "This new 38 mm handle comes at the right time, with more consumers demanding water and non-carbonated beverages in containers ranging from 5 to 10 litres. It is a solution that is convenient for the consumer and makes carrying easier."

The company representative also added: "Our technical expertise enables us to introduce this addition to our handle range, serving a market segment that demands an easy-to-use and durable solution. We are pleased to launch the 38 mm handle to the market, demonstrating Amcor’s ability to respond to changing consumer habits."
