Amcor invests in a new printing line in Hardenberg

Amcor invests in a new printing…

Amcor has made a multi-million-euro investment in a new printing line at its manufacturing site in Hardenberg, the Netherlands. According to the company, the project is intended to strengthen its industrial film capabilities in response to rising demand for packaging across segments such as growing media, peat, fertilisers, wood shavings, animal bedding, wood pellets, salts and other bulk materials. Commissioning of the new line is scheduled to begin in summer, with full operation expected in autumn 2026. When fully utilised, the installation is expected to provide additional printing capacity for up to 6,000 tonnes of packaging per year.

Amcor emphasises that the Hardenberg investment is part of efforts focused on supporting customers in key industrial and agricultural markets in Europe. Daniel Stauber, Sales Director at Amcor, states: "The Hardenberg investment is part of our strategy to support customers across key industrial and agricultural markets in Europe. It strengthens our existing network and improves regional service for customers".

The new installation is a high-performance flexographic printing system designed to deliver consistent, high-quality output at industrial scale. According to the company, the solution is intended to support both functional packaging performance requirements and on-pack branding needs.

The increase in capacity and improved responsiveness are, in the company’s view, meant to build on Amcor’s established European network of production, printing and service sites for agricultural and industrial packaging. The locations listed in the announcement include Ardeer (UK), Steinfeld (Germany), Zele (Belgium) and Zdzieszowice (Poland).

The company representative also highlighted the growth context for the segment. Daniel Stauber adds: "The industrial and agricultural markets represent a strong growth opportunity for our business, and this new capability positions us to support customers more effectively across the region, including evolving requirements around material efficiency, recycle-ready packaging and the use of recycled content where suitable".
