The Alpla Group has taken over the closure production operations of Serbian manufacturer Energoplast in Belgrade, continuing the company’s growth in compression and injection moulding and strengthening its role as a system provider for beverage packaging in South‑East Europe and the Balkan region. The transaction includes personnel, production lines and existing business, securing continuity of supply and expanding Alpla’s closure portfolio in the region. As a system provider, Alpla supplies high‑quality plastic packaging from a single source. By integrating Energoplast’s closure manufacturing, Alpla aims to meet growing regional demand with greater flexibility, quality and shorter delivery routes for local and international customers. The acquisition complements the company’s established network of plants in Serbia, Croatia and Slovenia and supports its integrated offering spanning design through to complete packaging solutions for the beverage sector.
Scope and production capabilities
Energoplast’s 2,000 square metre factory, located in the north of Belgrade, operates compression moulding and injection moulding machines to produce PE closures for the beverage industry in Serbia and neighbouring countries. According to Alpla, the addition of this site broadens its closure portfolio and enhances responsiveness to regional requirements while ensuring seamless continuation of Energoplast’s production activities.
Regional network and system-provider model
With the new asset, Alpla now operates four plants in Serbia, including two in‑house facilities at customers’ filling plants, two plants in Croatia, one of which is in‑house, and one plant in Slovenia. Across South‑East Europe, the company manufactures bottles, closures and containers for food, home care and cosmetic products, as well as oils and lubricants, and it primarily produces PET preforms for the beverage industry. The company states that the expansion of compression and injection moulding activities sends a clear signal to the market about its intent to leverage its system‑provider strengths and deliver end‑to‑end, reliable service.
Packaging specialist Alpla is expanding its production and range of high-quality plastic closures in Serbia with immediate effect.
Management perspective

This will enable us to secure supplies for our customers and provide them with immediate added value and strategic advantages in the long term,” said Miroslav Micković, general manager of Alpla Serbia.
“With this strategic move, Alpla is strengthening its presence in South-East Europe, promoting regional value creation and enabling it to meet growing demand in a targeted manner. This means that both local and international customers benefit equally from high-quality closure solutions and short delivery routes,” said Rainer Widmar, Alpla managing director Central and Eastern Europe.
“We want to fully leverage our strengths as a system provider and score points with innovative solutions. This enables us to provide first-class, reliable service from design to complete packaging,” said Michael Feltes, managing director of the injection moulding division Alplainject.
