At the Blechexpo trade fair, Roemheld will present several developments aimed at reducing set-up times in sheet metal forming and increasing process reliability. The line-up includes the R-MAG-M electro-permanent magnetic clamping system, the company's first proprietary magnetic solution for forming applications. It introduces a clamping force display and interchangeable magnetic poles. Also new are electrically driven tool handling solutions, the RW 1000 ELMO for loads up to 1,000 kg and the heavy-duty RWT tool change trolley for loads up to 4,000 kg. Completing the programme is the Flexline-R quick-clamping system for automated press lines, shown alongside a 24-volt DC Green Edition. Roemheld will also provide an overview of its complete clamping and changeover portfolio, with on-stand presentations planned in Hall 8, Stand 8505 in Stuttgart from 21 to 24 October 2025. Across the exhibits, the focus is on fully automatic clamping, ergonomic and precise transport, and modular components that simplify maintenance and reduce downtime.
Magnetic clamping system R-MAG-M
The R-MAG-M electro-permanent magnetic clamping system clamps tools of different sizes and geometries automatically and without distortion within seconds, and it maintains a secure hold even in the event of a power failure. A key addition is the integrated clamping force display, intended to enhance process reliability. Various sensors, including temperature sensors, position switches and flux measurement sensors, monitor the system during production. These control functions and the high holding forces are designed to secure tool clamping.
The system features replaceable magnetic poles. This design simplifies maintenance and can reduce downtime because defective poles may be replaced on site. A modern 8-inch colour display and an integrated remote maintenance module are included. According to the company, this is the first magnetic clamping system for sheet metal forming to combine a clamping force display with interchangeable magnetic poles. Roemheld designs and develops all magnetic clamping systems in Europe to customer specifications.
Electric tool change trolleys: RW 1000 ELMO and RWT
The RW 1000 ELMO expands the RW 1000 series with a fully electric variant for loads up to 1,000 kg. Unlike manually driven sister models, both the lift and the drive are electric. A B version with an additional integrated docking strip at the front is available. This bridges interfering edges on the press table to make moving tools onto the machine table easier.
For heavier applications, the RWT tool change trolley is designed for loads up to 4,000 kg. The electric vehicle uses radio remote control for ergonomic operation and provides a fully integrated transport solution. It combines a powerful drive with an electrohydraulic lifting platform, an integrated push-pull system, hydraulic ball rails and docking devices. This configuration enables safe transport, automatic extension and retraction, and precise positioning of heavy tools. Radio remote control and modular equipment support ergonomic handling and flexibility.
Flexline-R and 24 V DC Green Edition
The Flexline-R quick-clamping system is based on proven Flexline models and has been optimised for high loads. It is suited to automated press lines with frequent tool changes. At its core is a welded stainless steel pull-push chain for stability and durability. Reinforced holders, stainless steel components and an emergency release on the motor are intended to increase operational safety. Precise sensors monitor the positions of the clamping element and, optionally, the end position of the chain.
Flexline-R is available with two adjustment ranges and various hollow piston cylinders delivering clamping forces up to 104 kilonewtons. A compact design, low weight and the use of low-maintenance modules facilitate installation and servicing and help reduce downtime. With integrated energy and signal lines, a separate guide is not required. The Green Edition offers a 24-volt DC version that is compatible worldwide and eliminates the need for retrofitting.
