Plastpol 2026: Vecoplan to showcase the VIZ 1300 shredder

Plastpol 2026: Vecoplan to…

The diversity of plastic material streams is one of the key challenges for processing and recycling plants, because individual fractions differ in properties and in the requirements for shredding and feedstock preparation. At Plastpol, the trade fair for the plastics and rubber processing industry in Kielce, Vecoplan announces the presentation of the VIZ 1300 shredder, which is intended to address these needs by enabling configuration to suit different materials and applications. The company states that the unit can be configured, among other things, through the selection of rotor and blade variants as well as by using different screens, which is intended to allow flexible adaptation to application requirements. Vecoplan invites visitors to Stand 3A-11 in Hall 3 from 19 to 22 May 2026, where it will also present other elements of its offering as a full-system provider.

VIZ 1300: cutting-system configuration and automatic counter-knife adjustment

One feature highlighted by the manufacturer is the option to equip the VIZ 1300 with automatically adjustable counter-knives. In typical solutions, operators must periodically adjust the cutting gap manually to maintain stable shredding quality. Vecoplan indicates that the automatic counter-knife adjustment performs this task without manual intervention, which is intended to reduce time requirements and deliver consistent output quality regardless of the operator’s level of experience.

Drives and control

For the drive system, Vecoplan reports two available options. The first is the gearless HiTorc drive, in which torque is generated directly and the system contains no wear parts such as couplings, belt drives, or flywheels. The alternative is the ESC belt direct drive. According to the company, both solutions are designed for high efficiency and reduced maintenance needs.

Machine control is to be handled by the VSC.Control system, which enables intuitive adjustment of numerous operating parameters and real-time monitoring of operating data via a standard mobile device.

Cleaning technologies as part of the process chain

Alongside the VIZ 1300 shredder, Vecoplan also announces a focus on cleaning technologies in plastics recycling. The company notes that energy-efficient solutions in this area are becoming more important in modern plants. Together with its subsidiary Pla.to, which specialises in dry cleaning and washing technology, Vecoplan offers tailored, resource-efficient cleaning solutions that can be integrated into overarching concepts for processing plastic streams.

In the company’s description, dry cleaning requires no water, produces extrusion-ready flakes, and creates conditions for stable downstream process steps such as chemical recycling. The portfolio is complemented by wet cleaning processes, including friction washers and mechanical dryers. "Our focus is on finding the right cleaning solution for every material stream," explains Daniel Wienand, Head of Sales Europe at Vecoplan. "In our in-house 'Cleanikum', we test a wide range of materials under real-world conditions to determine which process is best suited to the respective application."

At Stand 3A-11 in Hall 3, the Vecoplan team is to provide information on the VIZ 1300, cleaning technology, and the company’s full solution portfolio.
