Omya Performance Polymer Distribution has been appointed as the mutually exclusive distribution partner for BASF's thermoplastic polyurethane Elastollan as part of the long-standing cooperation between the two companies. The new agreement, which will take effect on July 1, 2026, covers France, Switzerland, North Africa, Israel and the Middle East. This expansion marks another stage in the development of the partnership between Omya Performance Polymer Distribution and BASF and is in line with Omya's strategy to strengthen its market presence and high-performance polymers offering in both existing and newly added regions. The new territories complement the existing Elastollan TPU business in the United Kingdom and Ireland, operated by Distrupol, part of Omya Performance Polymer Distribution. According to the companies, customers in these markets have long relied on Elastollan TPU solutions supported by local presence and technical expertise.
Elastollan, BASF's flagship TPU brand, is known for its high toughness, durability and broad processing capabilities. These properties make it suitable for use in automotive components, industrial parts, consumer goods, electrical applications and other demanding sectors. BASF and Omya Performance Polymer Distribution state that they are closely coordinating the implementation of the new agreement in order to ensure uninterrupted access to local service, technical support and reliable Elastollan TPU supply in the covered markets.
Scope of the new agreement
The new arrangement expands the geographical scope of the distribution cooperation between Omya Performance Polymer Distribution and BASF. From July 2026, the agreement will cover France, Switzerland, North Africa, Israel and the Middle East. The companies emphasize that the cooperation model is based on localized customer support, technical expertise and supply reliability. The expansion builds on the previously developed business in the United Kingdom and Ireland, where the Elastollan TPU business is handled by Distrupol.
