Klöckner Pentaplast to debut at Packaging Innovations 2026

Klöckner Pentaplast to debut…

Klöckner Pentaplast (kp), a global provider of sustainable packaging solutions, announces its debut at Packaging Innovations & Empack 2026. During the event, the company plans to present solutions developed for foodservice businesses that need to comply with recyclability requirements without compromising the performance of the packaging materials they use. The portfolio on display will include both food-to-go packaging and catering films designed to help reduce food waste while maintaining required hygiene standards and efficiency in professional kitchens.

kp's participation in Packaging Innovations & Empack 2026

Packaging Innovations & Empack 2026 will take place on 11–12 February at the NEC Birmingham. Klöckner Pentaplast will be present in the FPA Food Service zone at stand H72, where it will showcase its latest solutions in the field of food-to-go packaging and catering films. The event brings together more than 450 suppliers in dedicated thematic zones covering all stages of the packaging life cycle, from product development and concept design, through processing and automation, to logistics and fulfilment solutions.

For Klöckner Pentaplast, the trade fair provides an opportunity to present solutions developed on the basis of the company’s more than 60 years of experience in plastics processing and packaging design. The manufacturer emphasises that the objective is to offer practical, technologically advanced solutions that are aligned with the principles of the circular economy and support the transition of the packaging sector towards circular systems.

EPP-based food-to-go solution: kp Infinity

One of the key elements of the presentation will be the kp Infinity food-to-go packaging system based on expanded polypropylene (EPP). This solution has been developed as a replacement for phased-out single-use expanded polystyrene packaging used in the gastronomy and meal delivery segment. According to the manufacturer, kp Infinity delivers performance characteristics that meet the requirements of modern out-of-home foodservice systems while at the same time complying with recyclability requirements.

kp Infinity packaging has been designed to maintain the temperature of food products. According to information provided by Klöckner Pentaplast, hot meals packed in these containers remain up to 10°C warmer compared to alternative solutions, while the outer surface of the packaging stays cool to the touch, ensuring user comfort. These characteristics are relevant for foodservice operators and consumers alike, particularly in applications related to delivery and takeaway services.

kp FlexiStretch catering films

The food-to-go packaging offer will be complemented by the presentation of the kp FlexiStretch catering film range. This product line has been developed for professional kitchens where reducing food waste is crucial while maintaining high levels of hygiene and process efficiency. According to the manufacturer, the films are intended to facilitate day-to-day work for staff by ensuring easy application and consistent performance.

The kp FlexiStretch portfolio includes both PVC-based solutions and recyclable films from the polyolefin (PO) family. In each case, the product design is focused on ease of use and high functionality, with the thinnest possible film gauge to reduce the amount of plastic used while maintaining the required mechanical strength and barrier properties suitable for typical foodservice applications.

Focus on foodservice market requirements

In presenting its portfolio at Packaging Innovations & Empack 2026, Klöckner Pentaplast highlights the alignment of its new solutions with current regulatory requirements and the practical challenges of the market. Billy Cook, National Sales Manager in kp’s food packaging division, underlines the importance of such events for dialogue with stakeholders in the foodservice sector.

"Packaging Innovations & Empack is the ideal platform to show how kp helps UK businesses tackle real-world challenges, from the EPS ban to food waste reduction, without sacrificing performance or sustainability. We're excited to meet visitors at stand H72 and demonstrate practical, proven solutions that support their operations."

The organisers of Packaging Innovations & Empack 2026 state that this edition will serve as a platform for presenting innovations across the entire packaging value chain, covering new materials as well as process solutions, automation and logistics systems. The participation of companies such as Klöckner Pentaplast indicates the growing importance of packaging solutions designed with recyclability, efficient use of raw materials and compliance with current and planned regulations on plastic packaging in mind.
