Hasco Group has officially launched a new distribution and logistics centre near the Stryków junction outside Łódź. The investment, worth nearly PLN 80 million, was carried out by PCF Procefar, a Hasco Group company responsible for the distribution of pharmaceutical products. The new facility is intended to increase the company's operational capacity, shorten delivery times and streamline logistics processes related to handling Hasco-Lek products. Construction began in early 2025, in the year of Hasco-Lek's 40th anniversary, and was completed according to schedule. According to group representatives, the investment is to be one of the important elements of the long-term development strategy. As Maciej Podraza, member of the management board of Hasco-Lek S.A., said, "We are proud to complete this stage of the investment and officially put the centre into operation. This is a project that streamlines and strengthens our logistics processes, creating a coherent and scalable operating model for the coming years. As a result, we can operate faster, more efficiently and with greater precision, which directly translates into the quality of customer service and product availability. This is one of the key steps in implementing our long-term development strategy."
The facility includes an operational zone of nearly 1,000 m² and more than 5,500 m² of warehouse space adapted for storing pharmaceutical products in line with Good Distribution Practice standards. The solutions implemented in the centre are intended to ensure product safety and maintain quality throughout the supply chain. One of the key pieces of equipment is an A-Frame device with Puma technology, described as the first such solution implemented in Poland. The system includes a measuring module that automatically checks stock levels, monitors the quantity and pace of replenishment, and supports control of individual product batches. As Maciej Wolski, operations director at PCF Procefar, explained, "As the investor, we focused on implementing solutions that will genuinely increase the efficiency of our distribution operations. For us, the new centre means above all the ability to manage production better and increase flexibility in customer service, which in practice means more efficient deliveries and higher service quality."
Centre of intelligent logistics
The new Hasco Group distribution and logistics centre was developed in cooperation with Astor, which was responsible for preparing the investment and implementing the automatic pharmacy picking system. The central element of the project is the A-Frame system with Puma technology, which automates the order picking process and increases its speed and precision. This solution is complemented by a put-to-light system, which guides operators during product placement using light signals, reducing the risk of errors and accelerating order fulfilment. The entire setup works with a WMS warehouse management system, which is intended to enable more efficient product flow management and optimisation of logistics processes.
As Michał Wojtulewicz, vice president of the management board of Astor for finance, emphasised, "It is a source of satisfaction and pride for us that we could be part of this investment and support a Polish company in building modern logistics facilities. In such projects, it is particularly clear that competitive advantage is determined not by technology alone, but by the way it is used, and above all by cooperation and trust between the investor, the technology supplier and the contractor. It is precisely the combination of global solutions with Polish engineering expertise and the experience of project teams that makes it possible to build efficient and scalable intralogistics environments."
Solid foundations of the investment
Harden Construction acted as the general contractor for the 8,300 m2 facility. The centre was designed as a complex comprising a 12-metre-high warehouse hall, a two-storey section and office and administrative facilities. The building was adapted to the specific requirements of the pharmaceutical industry, with particular attention paid to insulation, tightness and warehouse space organisation in line with Good Distribution Practice standards. According to the contractor, these solutions are intended to ensure stable product storage conditions and create the basis for implementing advanced technological systems.
Paweł Fiuczek, managing director of Harden Construction, said, "The completion of the modern centre in Stryków is another strategic step that strengthens our position in the Łódź region. This is already Harden Construction's eighth investment in this region and the second in the Stryków municipality itself, which is the best confirmation of the trust investors place in us. Thanks to partnership-based cooperation with Hasco Group, we have delivered a technologically advanced facility meeting the most stringent standards of the pharmaceutical industry. Our experience in implementing innovative construction solutions proves that we are ready to deliver the most demanding projects, encouraging further investors to choose Harden Construction as a key partner."
As a specialized pharma facility, the centre requires precise, round-the-clock control of temperature and humidity. It uses heating and ventilation installations described as environmentally friendly, and both the warehouse areas and the office and welfare rooms are air-conditioned. The building is also equipped with a BMS system for managing and monitoring installations, heat preparation and distribution, cold distribution, ventilation, air conditioning, and sanitary, electrical and low-current installations. The facility uses LED lighting with DALI functionality, as well as fire alarm systems, access control, video surveillance, an alarm system and other low-current installations.
Cooperation of multiple partners
Several entities took part in the investment, each responsible for specific areas of the project. The investor was PCF Procefar of Hasco Group, Harden Construction was responsible for construction works, the hall design was prepared by TFK, and investor supervision was provided by PDC Construction Management. Astor, in turn, was responsible for preparing and implementing the key warehouse automation solutions, including the pharmacy picking system, as the general contractor for this technological area.
According to information provided by the project participants, engineers, designers and technology implementation specialists also played an important role in creating the automated logistics infrastructure. The investment in Stryków is presented as an example of cooperation between design, construction, automation and operational logistics.
