Cannon presents composite technologies at JEC World 2026

Cannon presents composite…

At JEC World 2026, the global exhibition for the composites industry to be held from 10 to 12 March in Paris, the Cannon Group will present a portfolio of integrated manufacturing technologies developed through long-term investment in research and development. These solutions are aimed at increasing efficiency, process control and performance in applications using thermoset and thermoplastic composites. At the same time, they are intended to support more flexible, energy-efficient and industrially scalable production processes.

Solutions for aerospace and defense composites

Cannon will highlight its expertise in composite manufacturing for the aerospace and defense sectors, where process reliability, functional performance and product quality are critical. The Group will present validated solutions for both thermoplastic and thermoset materials, including advanced thermocompression lines, patented vacuum technologies and controlled resin injection systems.

These technologies support the production of lightweight, high-performance composite components while meeting the stringent requirements of aerospace and defense programs. They are focused on process parameter stability, quality repeatability and the possibility of integration with existing manufacturing lines used by producers in these sectors.

Nexus, intelligent mold thermoregulation system

Among the solutions on display will be Nexus, Cannon's patented and market-ready mold thermoregulation system. Nexus introduces a new approach to temperature management by using the physical properties of composite materials not only as structural reinforcement but also as a heating element integrated directly into the mold.

The system enables differentiated and precisely controlled thermal zones directly on the mold surface. This supports shorter cycle times, improved energy efficiency and advanced process optimization, particularly in RIM applications and in thermoset composite processing. The solution opens up manufacturing scenarios that were not achievable with conventional heating systems.

Possible, circular approach to polyurethane composites

Cannon will also present the Possible project (PrOduce SuStainabLE Industrial Bodies), focused on recycling and reuse of polyurethane waste and polyurethane glass-fiber reinforced composites. The project concentrates on the end-of-life phase of these materials and demonstrates the recovery and reintegration of recycled foams and composite granulates as secondary reinforcement materials in new polyurethane-based formulations.

Thanks to dedicated process solutions, recovered materials can be reintroduced into production in powder or granular form, using controlled feeding and mixing technologies. Depending on material characteristics and target formulations, recycled content can be integrated at levels relevant for industrial scale, while maintaining process stability and the required properties of the finished composite components.

High-tonnage compression molding of composites

Cannon will also underline its expertise in high-tonnage short-stroke presses and the project developed in cooperation with TEP - Taylor Engineering & Plastics. This solution has been engineered to deliver high performance and precision even in production facilities with limited ceiling height.

The adopted concept combines compact machine design with flexibility and productivity, enabling a wide range of composite processing applications. These solutions can be implemented in production lines where high clamping force is required while machine dimensions must remain limited.

Cannon at JEC World 2026

During Jec World 2026, the Cannon Group will present the described technologies at booth 5M72. The offering includes integrated solutions covering process engineering, mold thermoregulation systems, polyurethane composite recycling technologies and high-tonnage compression molding of composites, aimed at customers working with thermoset and thermoplastic composites.
