At the Plast trade fair in Milan, which will take place from 9 to 12 June 2026, Arburg (Hall 22, Stand C101 – D118) will present four injection moulding machines operating in different applications. The central exhibit will be the new electric Allrounder Trend injection moulding machine for standard applications. The manufacturer’s process expertise and the breadth of its product portfolio will be demonstrated using an Allrounder More 2000 for two-component moulding, a hybrid Allrounder 470 H processing silicone rubber and a fully automated vertical Allrounder 375 V for overmoulding inserts. The presentation will be complemented by a display of digital solutions including control systems, a customer portal and manufacturing execution software.
Held every three years, the Plast trade fair serves as an important barometer for the Italian plastics industry. As emphasised by Cesare Pedone, Sales Director at Arburg Italy, the event makes it possible to track current technology trends and promotes the exchange of knowledge and business contacts. The company intends to use its presence in Milan to showcase new solutions, in particular the Allrounder Trend series, tailored to the requirements of the Italian market and to further strengthen its position in the country.
New electric Allrounder Trend series
With the introduction of the Allrounder Trend series, Arburg is expanding its portfolio of high-end solutions with completely newly developed electric injection moulding machines for standard applications. The design of these machines has been aligned with current market expectations such as short delivery times, quick installation, simplified operation and servicing, as well as high process stability combined with energy-efficient operation. The manufacturer underlines that the new series is intended to offer low investment and operating costs along with a short return on investment and a favourable total cost of ownership.
At launch, four models with clamping forces from 500 to 2,000 kN will be available. All are equipped with the new Gestica lite control system featuring an intuitive user interface and a clearly structured dashboard, designed to facilitate operation even for personnel without specialist experience. Visitors to the trade fair in Milan will be able to observe in practice how design innovations are linked with the requirements of automated industrial production.
At Plast 2026, an automated electric Allrounder 1000e Trend will produce the “Donut-ella” product, a three-part USB cable winder used as a promotional giveaway. The injection moulded part, whose shape resembles a ring doughnut, won an award in December 2025 in the Pleiades competition (Plastic European Innovation Award for Design and Sustainability) organised by the IUAV University of Venice. The 1+1+1 family mould was supplied by Uniform, while the hot runner system was provided by Ewikon. The three-piece product is manufactured on one injection moulding machine in three cavities of the mould corresponding to the individual elements of the set.
Part handling is carried out by a Multilift Select 8 linear robotic system, which removes all three elements from the mould, places them on a conveyor belt and pre-assembles the upper and middle parts of the winder. The bottom part is added manually after the cable has been inserted, allowing visitors to familiarise themselves directly with the functionality of the product and the way it is used.
A new electric Allrounder 1000e Trend standard machine will be producing the Donut-ella design product – a USB cable winder – at Plast 2026.
Additional applications: two-component, HTV and insert overmoulding
In addition to the new Allrounder Trend series, Arburg will present three further injection moulding cells illustrating the company’s expertise in plastics processing at various stages of the value chain. The exhibits will cover a two-component application, the use of high-temperature vulcanising silicone rubber (HTV) and a fully automated insert overmoulding process.
The first solution is a complete line based on an Allrounder More 2000 for two-component moulding. The machine produces multicolour domino tiles using a complex 32-cavity hot runner mould developed by Polarform and Hasco. After the moulding step, the parts are automatically assembled into a game set. These tasks are performed jointly by a Multilift V 30 linear robot and a collaborative robot, which take over the parts from the mould, assemble them into complete sets and package them. The result is a ready-to-use domino set intended as a giveaway for stand visitors.
The second application demonstrates continuous processing of HTV silicone rubber into cable ties on a hybrid Allrounder 470 H injection moulding machine. The parts are produced in a 2+2-cavity mould with a cycle time of around 30 seconds. The machine is equipped with a silicone processing package and a customised injection unit. Dosing of the HTV compound is carried out using ACH Turnmix technology, which is intended to ensure continuous, bubble-free material feed into the barrel.
The third application relates to insert overmoulding on a vertical Allrounder 375 V with a rotary table and an eight-cavity mould. In a cycle time of around 35 seconds, rollers for pneumatic and hydraulic cylinders are produced. A fully automated system for feeding and removal of inserts is used, in which a six-axis robot is responsible both for positioning the inserts in the mould and for removing finished parts and performing quality inspection. This is intended to ensure consistent cycle times and stable overmoulding conditions.
The new Allrounder Trend machines are specifically configured to meet current market needs: they are available at short notice, can be set up quickly, are easy to operate and maintain, and have low investment and operating costs.
Digital solutions and user support
As a provider of complete solutions, Arburg will also present in Milan its portfolio of digital products and functions designed to integrate machines into the plant infrastructure and to monitor the process. This includes the company’s own ALS MES for real-time production monitoring, the arburgXworld customer portal and the Gestica control system with assistance functions for operators. The Gestica lite variant used in the Allrounder Trend machines offers a simplified, clearly structured interface with a main dashboard intended to provide easy access to key process parameters and operating data.
Cesare Pedone emphasises that user support in Italy covers not only the presentation of new solutions at the fair but also service and consulting afterwards. As he notes, Arburg Italy’s specialists provide services in the fields of technical service, short response times, on-site process optimisation, implementation of automation and training for personnel. This enables customers to test the technologies presented at Plast 2026 in conditions close to their own production and to implement them gradually in their plants.
