From 2 to 5 June 2026, the Equiplast trade fair in Barcelona will once again bring together the Spanish and Portuguese plastics industry. Arburg (stand C32, hall P3), in cooperation with technology partners, will appear as a supplier of complete solutions for plastics processors. The portfolio will include injection moulding technology, automation and peripheral equipment, as well as digital products and services. The main highlight will be the new electric Allrounder Trend series with the Gestica lite control system. A fully automated LSR injection moulding cell will be operating on the stand, complemented by peripheral equipment from Moretto and HB-Therm, the ALS MES system and the arburgXworld customer portal.
Importance of Equiplast for the Iberian market
Martin Cayre, Managing Director of Arburg S.A. in Arganda del Rey near Madrid, emphasises the strategic role of the trade fair for the Iberian Peninsula. In his view, Equiplast is the leading industry event in Spain and Portugal and thus a key platform for presenting the company’s new technologies and capabilities and for strengthening relationships with customers in this region. He indicates that Arburg wants to present itself at the trade fair as a supplier of solutions adapted to the diverse requirements of processors, including both standard applications and advanced, automated production cells.
Arburg’s offer for the Iberian market is based on the concept of complete deliveries in which customers receive the machine, robotics, peripherals and digital support from a single source. As Martin Cayre points out, demand is increasing both for standardised solutions and for automated turnkey systems. Arburg is responding to these needs by expanding its local service and training structure, which covers locations near Madrid, Barcelona and in Portugal, and by closer cooperation with strategic partners in the areas of temperature control and material drying.
Electric Allrounder Trend for standard applications
The Allrounder Trend series extends Arburg’s high-end portfolio with newly developed, fully electric injection moulding machines for standard applications. They have been designed with current market requirements in mind, including short delivery times, simple configuration and operation, and high process reliability and energy efficiency. The manufacturer also highlights the low investment and operating costs, which are intended to result in a fast return on investment and a reduced total cost of ownership.
The new machines will initially be available in four sizes with clamping forces from 500 to 2,000 kN. All models in the Trend series are equipped as standard with the Gestica lite control system. The user interface features a clear dashboard with a transparent layout of functions, intended to make operation easier even for less experienced operators. This solution is designed to support fast changeovers and reduce the risk of setting errors in day-to-day production.
The new Allrounder Trend injection moulding machines have a configuration tailored to current market requirements: they are offered with short delivery times, are quick to commission, very easy to operate and maintain, and feature low investment and operating costs
LSR “Secure Seal” moulding for medical technology
At Equiplast 2026, an application example will be presented in the form of a fully automated cell for liquid silicone rubber (LSR) injection moulding. At its centre will be an Allrounder 1800 e Trend injection moulding machine producing “Secure Seal” closures with food-grade approval for the medical technology sector. These components are used to protect needles and syringes.
The system will be equipped with a 64-cavity mould supplied by ACH Solution and a Multilift Select 16 linear robotic system from Arburg. The integrated production cell achieves an output of around 9,200 closures per hour. The Multilift robot removes parts weighing 0.5 g each and places them in the tray, separated according to the mould cavities, while an additional drawer enables sampling of selected parts for quality control and process documentation.
For automated injection moulding production, Allrounder Trend machines can be equipped with robot systems and compact safety guards from Arburg
Cooperation with Moretto and HB-Therm and local support
Solutions from Arburg’s partners in the field of peripheral equipment will also be present on the stand. Moretto and HB-Therm will present, respectively, systems for plastics drying and equipment for mould temperature control. As Martin Cayre points out, such equipment can be integrated into optimised process chains, which supports fast, reproducible and stable-quality production. The joint presentation at Equiplast 2026 will be the first appearance of Arburg together with these partners on the Iberian market.
Arburg also highlights the development of its local technical infrastructure. Customers in Spain and Portugal can benefit from service, application support and training provided at centres located near Madrid, Barcelona and in Portugal. The objective is to shorten response times to operational needs and to support users in optimising injection moulding processes and launching new projects.
Digital solutions for injection moulding production
Digital products and services supporting the daily work of processors will form an important part of the presentation. Visitors to the Arburg stand will be able to learn about the pilot and assistance functions integrated into the machine control system, as well as the capabilities of the ALS host computer system, which serves as the company’s MES for networked injection moulding production. These solutions are intended to facilitate real-time production monitoring, ensure traceability of process parameters and production batches, and increase data transparency.
The arburgXworld customer portal, which includes a range of practical applications, will also be presented. Through this portal, users can access machine data, service information and tools that support management of the machine fleet. Arburg stresses that the combined use of advanced machines, peripheral equipment and digital solutions is designed to enable plastics processors on the Iberian market to operate injection moulding production in an economical, efficient and well-documented manner from a process standpoint.
