Amcor to showcase circularity…

Amcor has announced it will present circular economy solutions at Plastic Recycling Show Europe (PRSE) 2026, to be held at RAI Amsterdam on 5–6 May. At stand B120, the company is set to show how recycled plastics are converted into new packaging at industrial scale. The exhibit will focus on an approach intended to help customers adapt to evolving regulatory requirements, including upcoming measures under the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), while maintaining performance and consistency in demanding packaging applications.

As Gerald Rebitzer, Vice President, Sustainability & Advocacy at Amcor, points out, increasing volumes of plastic waste across Europe are being collected and processed, yet a key challenge remains the further development and incorporation of high-quality recycled material into high-performance packaging. "Across Europe, increasing volumes of plastic waste are being collected and processed. The challenge continues to be the development and incorporation of high-quality recycled material into high-performance packaging," said Gerald Rebitzer. He added: "At Amcor, we combine recycling, material science and packaging expertise to convert recycled polymers into high-performance packaging, helping to close the loop in practice."

Mechanical recycling for PE and PP

At PRSE, the company is expected to highlight industrial-scale recycling capabilities for polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP). The statement notes that its mechanical recycling operations for flexible films produce specification-grade post-consumer recycled (PCR) material, including Sustane recycled polymer. This material is intended for non-contact-sensitive flexible packaging applications such as shrink films, stretch films, and other industrial uses.

In parallel, Amcor is set to present its CleanStream technology, which processes household PP waste into high-quality recycled material suitable for contact-sensitive applications, including in the personal care sector.

Advanced recycling and development infrastructure

Amcor also plans to present its work in advanced recycling, including a pilot project at its Heanor site in the UK. According to the company, the project is intended to expand the range of applications for recycled flexible plastics.

Amcor emphasizes that its approach to circularity is based on a combination of in-house recycling capabilities and strategic sourcing partnerships across the value chain. The stand is also expected to highlight the role of Amcor’s network of Innovation Centers in supporting material development and testing, aimed at enabling the expansion of applications for recycled content.

Participation in the PRSE Conference

Amcor representatives are also expected to participate in the PRSE Conference, which runs alongside the exhibition. Mike Baxter, Director Government Relations, will take part in the panel discussion "What Next for Plastics Packaging?" on Wednesday 6 May. "We’re looking forward to engaging with recyclers, feedstock suppliers and partners across the value chain to explore how we can scale the use of recycled material in packaging applications," added Mike Baxter.
