Alfa Laval has announced the presentation of its latest solutions for the marine sector at Posidonia 2026, which will take place from 1 to 5 June in Athens. The company will be present in Hall 2, Stand 204, where it will meet with customers and partners and present technologies addressing the changing needs of the shipping industry. The display will cover solutions related to new fuels, energy efficiency, compliance with environmental requirements and ocean protection. Digital tools and drydock services aimed at improving vessel operating performance will also be presented. Company experts will be available at the stand to discuss possible cooperation, from optimizing vessel efficiency to addressing the energy transition and compliance with environmental regulations.

Solutions for the fuel transition

The announcement emphasizes that Greece is strengthening its position in the LNG carrier segment and is becoming an important market for the deployment of new fuels. Alfa Laval says it supports shipowners preparing for the fuel transition. The company’s marine portfolio includes solutions for LNG, LPG, biofuels, methanol and ammonia. The technologies listed include biofuel-ready fuel lines, Aalborg multi-fuel boilers and low-flashpoint fuel supply systems, designed for safe and efficient vessel operation and readiness for future requirements. During the event, the company will also present its latest LNG solutions using cryogenic heat transfer technology, as well as solutions for ammonia-fuelled newbuilds.

Energy efficiency on board

The company also points to solutions supporting fuel savings and improved vessel operation in the context of current and future fuels, as well as improvements in EEDI, EEXI and CII indicators. These include the AQUA Blue Mini freshwater generator and the OceanGlide fluidic air lubrication system. Alfa Laval states that its heat transfer solutions are engineered to work with a wide range of currently used and emerging fuels, which is intended to provide users with operational flexibility.

Digital tools and environmental compliance

One part of the presentation will focus on StormGeo’s Voyage Intelligence solution, intended for shipowners, operators and charterers. The system combines voyage planning, route optimization, weather data and fleet performance parameters in one environment. According to the description, the solution supports real-time monitoring, compliance reporting, bunker procurement and post-voyage analysis. During Posidonia, StormGeo experts will be present at the Alfa Laval stand to show how digital solutions can support operational efficiency, environmental compliance and voyage decision-making.

Ocean protection and compliance requirements

In the area of environmental solutions, Alfa Laval will highlight, among others, the PureBallast 3 Ultra ballast water treatment system. According to the company, the solution is designed to provide reliable operation in different water conditions while reducing energy consumption. During the exhibition, the company will also present the Compliance Service Package for PureBallast, covering system upgrades, lifecycle support and long-term compliance with IMO and USCG requirements.

Filtration, wind propulsion and service support

The stand will also feature the new Moatti filter platform 180, designed to support more efficient fuel oil filtration and optimized engine protection. Alfa Laval will also present Oceanbird, a joint venture between Alfa Laval and Wallenius, developed in the area of modern wind propulsion. The company also points to its 24/7 Service & Support offering, providing around-the-clock access to the Alfa Laval Marine Service network. The scope of services includes support in the areas of uptime, operating performance, regulatory compliance and sustainability of marine vessels worldwide. The offering includes, among others, compliance support, digital services, preventive maintenance, spare parts and drydock services.

Visitors to Posidonia will be able to explore these topics at the Alfa Laval stand in Hall 2, Stand 204, as well as at the stand of the company’s partner, Technava, in Hall 3, Stand 111.
