Wolfgang Trunk, Team Leader for Plastics and Packaging at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Environment (DG Environment), has been confirmed as one of the speakers at the Plastics Recycling Show Europe 2026 conference. The event, marking its 10th anniversary, will take place on 5 and 6 May 2026 at RAI Amsterdam. The organisers say the conference programme will feature more than 70 representatives from across the sector, and the meeting is intended as a forum for stakeholders across the plastics recycling value chain in Europe.
The opening keynote speakers include Jessika Roswall, EU Commissioner for Environment, Water Resilience and a Competitive Circular Economy, as well as Ton Emans, President of Plastics Recyclers Europe. Their session, titled "From Crisis to Competitiveness: Rebuilding the European Plastics Recycling Industry", is expected to set the direction of discussions during the event.
Wolfgang Trunk, described as a senior European Commission policy expert, coordinated work on the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR). At PRSE 2026 he will contribute to the panel discussion "Recycled Content Targets: From Mandate to Implementation", focusing on how regulatory requirements are translated into market practice.

The two-day programme is to run in parallel across two conference theatres and will include keynote sessions, panel discussions, technical presentations and sponsored sessions. The topics are expected to cover, among other areas, public policy, innovation and market developments relevant to plastics recycling and the broader circular economy.

Plastics Recycling Show Europe is aimed at professionals involved in plastics recycling and the circular use of plastics.
