Wittmann highlights EcoPrimus and SmartPower at Plast Eurasia

Wittmann highlights EcoPrimus…

The Wittmann Group will present state-of-the-art injection molding technology with integrated automation and auxiliaries at Plast Eurasia in Istanbul from December 3 to 6, 2025. At booth No. 823 in hall 8, the company, together with its local subsidiary Wittmann Battenfeld Plastik Makineleri Ltd. Sti., will focus on energy efficiency and practical system integration for molding, handling and downstream processes. With more than 1,000 exhibitors from over 40 countries, Plast Eurasia ranks among the world’s leading plastics trade fairs, making it an important platform for Wittmann’s portfolio. Two injection molding machines will be shown: the new all-electric EcoPrimus and a servo-hydraulic model from the SmartPower series. The EcoPrimus, a standardized model derived from the EcoPower platform, combines efficiency and economy, features the Unilog B8X control and is available in the 100 size with 1,000 kN clamping force. The SmartPower exhibit underscores the series’ compact design, high serviceability and the Wittmann-developed KERS system for enhanced energy efficiency.

Injection molding exhibits

The EcoPrimus was first presented at K 2025 and is positioned as Wittmann’s answer to applications that require a limited range of options. On an EcoPrimus 100/525, closing caps for medical applications will be produced using a 24-cavity mold with an unscrewing device supplied by HTW, Austria. Parts are removed and deposited on a conveyor belt by a Wittmann W918 robot, then transferred to a tubular bag machine from Ravizza Packaging, Italy, for packaging.

The second machine, a SmartPower 180/750, will manufacture a spectacles case from PP using a 2-cavity hot runner mold from the Turkish company ATA Dizayn. The cycle time is approximately 20 seconds and the part weight is 48 grams. Part removal is handled by a Wittmann Primus 116 robot. A Wittmann conveyor and a Dosimax VFS dosing device complete the system. Machines in the SmartPower series cover a wide range of applications, and the series benefits from compactness and serviceability, including a swiveling injection unit, as well as the Wittmann KERS system for further energy savings.

Automation and robotics

Alongside the integrated cells, Wittmann Battenfeld Plastik Makineleri will present a range of standalone robots. Highlights include the Sonic 108 high-speed robot with extremely short parts removal times and mold-open times below 1 second, as well as models from the Primus and WX series. On display will be the Primus 116 with a rigid demolding axis for injection molding machines up to approximately 300 tons clamping force, the Primus 126 and the new Primus 118, together with the WX153 and WX142 robots. All robots are equipped with the Wittmann R9 control system.

The R9 TeachBox features a touchscreen with a clear interface and live 3D animations. Additional buttons with tactile feedback enable precise control of axis movements and programming. The QuickNew Wizard simplifies programming, while the animated program editor presents even complex applications in an accessible way. The QuickEdit function allows commands to be changed and values entered without affecting the overall program syntax. Visitors can test the visualization and programming options live on the TeachBox of the WX142 robot.

Auxiliaries

In mobile material drying, Wittmann will show Drymax plus EcoDrive and Drymax primus dry air dryers, as well as the Card primus compressed air dryer. The Drymax 300-EcoDrive series battery dryer dynamically adjusts dry air output to current drying requirements, reducing energy consumption while maintaining consistently high drying quality.

The company’s expertise in conveyor technology is represented by the versatile Feedmax series. The range covers devices for small to medium throughputs as well as complex systems with high throughput rates, with the Feedmax primus as a highlight. Despite compact design, the units are made entirely of stainless steel for resistance to abrasive materials. A sophisticated outlet flap system and interchangeable inlet nozzles with pendulum flaps support reliable operation in demanding material distribution systems.

Also on display is the Feedmax Clean central conveyor, developed for conveying recycled plastic material with special emphasis on dust separation. A flow pattern based on the cyclone effect and continuous material circulation maximizes dust separation across the entire conveying cycle, achieving up to 80% separation efficiency for particles smaller than 1,000 μm within a single conveying cycle. Conventional conveyors typically reach a maximum of about 10% in comparison.

For mobile use and short conveying distances, the Feedmax S3 net single conveyor will be presented. Central control is provided by the E-Max 2 system, supporting material distribution installations with up to 22 conveyors and up to two vacuum circuits.

The auxiliary portfolio on show also includes a Gravimax 14 gravimetric blender and a Dosimax volumetric blender, complemented by an RFID-monitored Codemax coupling station. Granulation will be represented by the S-Max 2 beside-the-press, screenless granulator operating at low speed for energy- and cost-efficient grinding of engineering plastics, as well as styrene, acrylic and fiberglass-reinforced materials.

Temperature control will be covered by devices from the Tempro plus D series, designed for technically demanding applications. The series offers extensive standard equipment and market-aligned options, including various pump configurations, with both single-circuit and dual-circuit units on display. The lineup is rounded off by devices from the Tempro basic series and a selection of analog and digital flow controllers, such as the Flowcon plus and the WFC.
