SüdpacK Medica packaging solutions at Pharmapack 2026

SüdpacK Medica packaging solutions…

SüdpacK Medica announces a broad presentation of its portfolio for the pharmaceutical and medical industries at Pharmapack 2026 in Paris. At booth 4F12, the company will focus on the recyclable Pharmaguard blister concept, Medguard low-particle packaging solutions and the new Medhub service, which is intended to simplify ordering of pre-made three-side-seal medical pouches in various sizes. The showcase will cover both materials for forming blisters and trays and bag systems for process applications as well as packaging for sterilization and transfer of products between cleanroom zones.

Pharmaguard packaging concept

The Pharmaguard packaging concept is currently available in two material variants. In addition to the transparent blister film, which has already received multiple awards, a white blister film is also on the market. The white variant is characterized by high opacity and improved print legibility, which is important for marking and identifying unit-dose pharmaceutical products. Both solutions are based on the same monomaterial structure.

The Pharmaguard solution is a monomaterial construction free from phthalates, vinyl compounds, PFAS and halogens. According to the manufacturer, the film provides very good water vapor barrier properties, high resistance to puncture when pushing the product out of the blister and reliable processability on standard packaging lines used in the pharmaceutical industry. The polypropylene-based blisters are designed to be recyclable and, according to an ISO 14040/44-verified life cycle assessment (LCA) performed by Sphera, have a significantly lower climate impact compared with conventional laminates made of aluminum and PET.

Medguard portfolio for medical and pharmaceutical products

Under the Medguard brand, SüdpacK Medica offers a broad range of packaging systems for medical devices and sensitive products. This includes robust rigid and flexible films as well as tailored bag concepts manufactured under controlled cleanroom conditions. The objective is to ensure maximum product protection, stability and sterility throughout the entire process chain, from packaging to use by the end user.

SüdpacK materials can be equipped with specific barrier properties and peel characteristics depending on process requirements and the intended opening method. They are compatible with flexible lidding systems made of film, Tyvek or medical-grade paper. Such combinations seal trays securely and are designed for highly automated packaging processes. The thermoformable rigid films in the portfolio are based on recyclable PET and PP, which means they are used, among other applications, in tray packaging for secure positioning of surgical kits, instruments, syringes and ampoules.

Various packaging materials made of film, paper or aluminum can also be processed on standard form-fill-seal lines into bags with differentiated parameters. Configuration of the material structure allows barrier properties against oxygen, moisture and light to be tailored to specific end-user requirements and to the particular application in medicine or pharmacy.

Bags and pouch concepts in the SüdpacK Medica range

An important product group to be showcased at Pharmapack will be SüdpacK Medica bag concepts. These include both standardized solutions and fully customized designs. Standard and specialized bags are used, among other applications, as process bags for bioreactors, as header bags or patched bags for instrument sterilization and for transferring sterilized products between cleanrooms.

This product segment also includes three-side-seal pouches, which can be precisely tailored to customer requirements in terms of shape, material combinations, functionality and printing. The design of the pouches can be specified for defined mechanical strength, compatibility with the selected sterilization method and the intended opening behavior in hospital or laboratory environments.

Medhub – streamlined portfolio and reliable supply of medical pouches

For customers who require a continuous supply of pre-made medical bags and pouches in standard formats, SüdpacK is introducing the Medhub service. According to the company, Medhub is intended to provide high flexibility with minimal organizational effort on the customer side and reliable deliveries, either on the requested date or in a just-in-time model. Products supplied within this service are manufactured in ISO-classified cleanrooms and supported by standardized certifications, which is intended to enable compliance with stringent quality and safety requirements for medical use.

In Paris, SüdpacK film specialists will present the Medhub service to the public for the first time. They will demonstrate how orders for medical bags can be placed easily by phone, e-mail or online. The service is aimed at facilities that require a structured portfolio of standard bag solutions combined with predictable delivery times within existing packaging and logistics processes.
