Wittmann showcased the new Drymax basic 120 dry air dryer at K 2025, positioning the mobile unit as an energy-saving solution based on proven dual-cartridge technology. The model is specified for dry air outputs of 120 m³/h and throughputs of up to 75 kg/h. According to the company, the design focuses on high energy efficiency, ease of maintenance, and a particularly compact footprint, aiming to save energy, time, and space in day-to-day operation. The presentation formed part of the Wittmann Group stand under the motto "Smart Choices, Smart Savings" during the trade fair held from October 8 to 15 in Düsseldorf, Germany.
With this development, Wittmann reports further improvements to its temperature-controlled regeneration. The process is adjusted to the current demand, which is intended to avoid unnecessary energy consumption. In addition, automatic temperature reduction during machine downtime or when drying requirements are lower contributes to improved overall energy efficiency.
The SmartCare option is new and was developed for regions with high ambient temperatures and frequently high humidity. By supplying a minimal amount of compressed air to the process, SmartCare enables lower and more constant dew points. The company highlights this behavior as a way to stabilize drying performance under challenging climatic conditions.
Serviceability was also addressed. The Drymax basic 120 provides convenient access to the suction box area and to the filter element. This arrangement simplifies cleaning, saves time, and increases system availability. Combined with the compact, mobile form factor, the dryer is intended to integrate easily where space and uptime are critical.
Energy management and process control
The Drymax basic 120 builds on dual-cartridge technology with demand-based, temperature-controlled regeneration to curb energy use. The automatic temperature reduction function further limits consumption during non-production periods or when the drying load decreases. For applications affected by high heat and humidity, the SmartCare option supplies a small amount of compressed air to maintain a lower and more consistent dew point.
- Dry air output: 120 m³/h
- Material throughput: up to 75 kg/h
- Dual-cartridge technology with demand-based regeneration
- Automatic temperature reduction during downtime or reduced drying needs
- SmartCare option for lower, more constant dew points via minimal compressed air supply
- Improved access to the suction box area and filter element for faster cleaning
These measures are intended to reduce energy consumption, stabilize drying conditions, and simplify routine maintenance, aligning the unit with the stated focus on energy savings and availability.
