Lindner Washtech, a manufacturer of washing systems for the plastics processing industry, has expanded its global management team. Marcel Willberg, who has been with the company for around ten years, has joined Georg Krenn, who has shaped Lindner Washtech’s development and international market position since the company was founded. Willberg has been appointed Managing Director and will in future be primarily responsible for global sales. The company emphasises that the appointment is part of a long-term approach to building leadership by developing talent from within the organisation.
Lindner Washtech reports that it draws on experience from implementing more than 250 projects worldwide and is expanding its focus on end-to-end solutions covering successive stages, from collecting waste plastics through to producing recyclate. Within its technology partnership with Erema, the company points to the ability to deliver the complete process chain from a single source, combining Lindner’s core competence in plastics processing with Erema’s expertise in extrusion technology. In practice, this is intended to translate into the integration of steps including sorting, pre-shredding, cold and hot washing, drying, and quality assurance.
Process expertise and project implementation
According to the company, Marcel Willberg has knowledge of plastics recycling covering processes from sorting and pre-shredding, through washing, to drying and quality control. Before taking up his new role, he served as Head of Sales. During that time, together with his team, he supported customers in Europe, the USA, Asia and the Middle East, participating in the implementation of projects of varying scale and complexity. Examples cited include large-scale systems for municipal waste management companies as well as custom-designed systems for international plastics processors and petrochemical corporations.
Matthias Egarter, CEO of Lindner, highlights Willberg’s capabilities beyond the technical side: “Marcel Willberg’s skillset goes far beyond technical specifications. He understands his clients’ business scenarios and devises tailor-made solutions together with them and his team.” He added: “I am proud that we have been able to develop leadership personalities like him from within our ranks.”
A strategic signal: leadership developed within the organisation
Manfred Hackl, CEO of the Erema Group, also commented on the management changes, stressing the importance of teams and leadership capability. “Strong companies are built on strong teams, and it is these teams that bring added value to the customer,” he said. In his view, Willberg and Krenn form a leadership team combining experience, market focus and technological expertise. Hackl also stated that he expects Lindner Washtech to further strengthen its international market position through successful projects, supported by the two parent companies.
Shared responsibility for managing global business
The statement emphasises that the management duo is intended to combine Georg Krenn’s many years of experience in strategic operations and technical expertise with Marcel Willberg’s strength in global sales. Willberg commented on his appointment as follows: “I am delighted to accept the trust placed in me and look forward to my new tasks. Together with Georg Krenn, I want to extend Lindner Washtech’s position in the international market and embed our integrated solutions even more firmly with our customers worldwide.”
