Clariant to increase prices for all masterbatch

Clariant to increase prices… Clariant, a world leader in masterbatches and specialty compounds, has today announced a price increase globally for all masterbatch and compound products containing titanium dioxide, carbon black, pigments, dyes and several additives by 8% (depending on the grade, concentration and quality of the titanium dioxide, carbon black, pigments, dyes and additives).

The increase includes white, black, color, additive masterbatches and compounds and relates to the following product brands: REMAFIN, RENOL, CESA, HiFormer & MEVOPUR. This will be effective for all deliveries from February 1, 2018 or as soon as contracts allow. This price increase is due to the additional rise in prices of titanium dioxide, carbon black, pigments, dyes and additives driven by several factors including supply-demand dynamics, ongoing capacity reductions in the pigment and dye industry and related increases in feedstock costs of several materials.

Clariant is a globally leading specialty chemicals company, based in Muttenz near Basel/Switzerland. On 31 December 2016 the company employed a total workforce of 17 442. In the financial year 2016, Clariant recorded sales of CHF 5.847 billion for its continuing businesses. The company reports in four business areas: Care Chemicals, Catalysis, Natural Resources, and Plastics & Coatings. Clariant’s corporate strategy is based on five pillars: focus on innovation through R&D, add value with sustainability, reposition portfolio, intensify growth, and increase profitability.
