20 years of Brückner's Technology Center

20 years of Brückner's Technology… Exactly 20 years ago Brückner's Technology Center, on the company premises in Siegsdorf, was opened. Various practical research facilities as well as pilot line and laboratory line are located on 2,900m2. It is a part of a long tradition, because since the company's foundation in 1960, the running of an own pilot line for process and technology development has been a part of Brückner Maschinenbau's strategy.

The Brückner Technology Center offers extensive opportunities for the analysis and development of polymer films for all kinds of film stretching lines under one roof. On the one hand it is used by the R&D department to extend their know-how. On the other, the joint development projects with our customers, film producers, processors and raw material producers lays the foundation for new recipes and film types.

Various facilities

The heart of the Technology Center is the pilot line, on which numerous film types can be produced in all stretching variations and under production-like conditions. Over the past 20 years ground breaking film developments have been effected and accompanied: High-barrier packaging film, synthetic paper and stone paper, ultra-thin capacitor film, solar back-sheets for photovoltaic modules, batter separator films and much more.

The laboratory stretching frame "Karo 5.0" is also well-booked. With this, films can be tested, very simply and cost-effectively, and new materials can be developed, sequentially as well as simultaneously. Brückner's Technology Center also has laboratory extrusion line for developing new film recipes and film types.

A chemical laboratory for the analysis of films, raw materials and components completes the Brückner's Technology Center research facilities in Siegsdorf. This comprehensive concept gives film producers the possibility to improve their product's properties, to develop new films and enter new markets.

"We can rightly claim that our R&D centre is unique in the world of film production. We can cater to the most varied customer wishes with our machines and lines, and thanks to the great flexibility, we are a much sought-after contact in the branch. We can make a significant improvement with our Technology Center, especially with today's important topics of plastics and the environment, sustainability and recycling." Says Dr. Stefan Seibel, head of the Research and Development department at Brückner Maschinenbau.
