150th Allrounder for HK Cosmetic Packaging

150th Allrounder for HK Cosmetic…

HK Cosmetic Packaging GmbH of Coburg-Creidlitz, Bavaria, and Arburg marked a dual milestone in Lossburg on 22 October 2025, celebrating 50 years of cooperation alongside the handover of the company’s 150th Allrounder injection moulding machine. The anniversary unit is a hydraulic Allrounder 720 S that will be deployed to mould high-quality, thick-walled PET cream jars. HK Cosmetic Packaging supplies plastic packaging to international cosmetics customers and operates a modern injection moulding production facility supported by more than 110 years of company experience. Since purchasing its first Allrounder in 1975, the company has relied exclusively on Arburg machines for injection moulding. The collaboration has expanded over decades to include machine customisation, automation and turnkey solutions aligned with stable, series production of cosmetic packaging.

Close cooperation for 50 years

HK Cosmetic Packaging is active across injection moulding, thermoset pressing, injection blow moulding, screen printing and hot foil stamping. Beyond customised solutions, its portfolio covers thin and double-walled tins, thick-walled jars, individual sticks and roll-ons, together with matching closures. Managing Director Christian Abicht highlighted the basis of the partnership: "We particularly appreciate the great reliability and durability of the Allrounders. The processes are stable, which is crucial for our production. The ability to customise the machines to our requirements is also a big plus".

Automated injection moulding production

Including the anniversary unit, around 85 Allrounders with clamping forces from 250 to 3,200 kN are currently in operation at HK Cosmetic Packaging. Many systems are equipped with Multilift linear robotic systems for automated series production. Together with Arburg, the company developed and commissioned a complex turnkey system for fully automated production of cosmetic jars with lids. The latest hydraulic Allrounder 720 S, rated at 3,200 kN and configured with a 1,300 injection unit, is also automated with a Multilift. It will produce thick-walled PET cream jars with wall thicknesses of up to ten millimetres.

Ceremonial handover

A delegation from HK Cosmetic Packaging travelled to Lossburg for the handover and anniversary celebration. Participants included Managing Director Christian Abicht, Production Manager Stefan Mayer, Design Manager Hamdi Sevinc, Matthias Beck, Head of Injection Moulding, his deputy Hubertus Nützel, and Alexander Wittig, Head of Maintenance. From Arburg, Managing Director Sales and Aftersales Tobias Baur attended, together with Area Sales Manager Andreas Koch, Sales Consultant Josef Öhrig and Bernd Schmid, Vice President Sales Germany and Austria.
